Dracula from the Van Helsing movie. He was SOOOO over the top and glorious. I'm surprised his castle remained standing, he was chewing the scenery so much. xD

Well, the Joker is pretty much the only reason I like anything Batman related. Batman himself is a bit of a boring bugger, but the Joker in pretty much all his iterations is a joy to behold, from the about three comic books I've read to the films to the Arkham games.

The Templars from the Assassin's Creed games (or at least, the first two, I got bored after that). The Assassins just come across as wanting freedom because it means they can stab people more. The Templars are at least stabbing people to create a utopian society where everyone is at peace and in order. Stabbing for the Assassins is the goal, whilst for the Templars it's the path to the goal. And in my experience, the less stabbing the better.

Also, I don't know if he counts as a villain, but Miles Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney series is by far my favorite character and I think often more morally justified in what he's doing than Phoenix Wright (or anyone else, for that matter).

My favourite character in the Resident Evil franchise has always been Albert Wesker, closely followed by Ada Wong. I just find them far more interesting than all the other characters. I know Ada is probably a bit of a grey area, but she is definitely following her own agenda and looking out for herself, and Wesker is just a pure unmitigated badass.

Walter White. I just like how throughout Breaking bad he slowly changes his personality and he slowly gets seduced by his dark side as the series goes on. I must admit, it took me a while to buy into Breaking bad, but now I have to admit it was one of the most interesting things on TV.

Hannibal in the Hannibal reboot. He is just so suave and sophisticated, very much a man to be reckoned with and is always in control. Will Graham on the other hand tends to irritate me slightly. It is still one of the best things on TV, I just have to make sure I am not eating while I watch it.

Hans Landa from Inglourious basterds mainly because he is played by Christoph Waltz (I am a huge Christoph Waltz fangirl) but he just oozed class and sophistication and he played the villain with such a relish it was sort of difficult not to like him.

Amon from Avatar: Legend of Korra come to my mind. Ok granted it doesn't helped that the protagonist Korra is an unlikeable character but Anon does have his merit. I thought he was a great mastermind and he was somewhat an sympathic villain given to his father Yakone. Before his big secret reveal, he was a threatening character despite having no bending ability kind of like Batman.

Pretty much the whole of Command and Conquer. That is, the Brotherhood of NOD is cooler than the GDI, the Soviets are cooler than the allied forces and the GLA is cooler than USA. It's the straightforward military vs. the oddball opposing faction so there's not much contest there.

I think CP is out in NA now? I'll have to check at some point if it ain't region locked. I need to buy a PS3 for it too so I might wait the minimum 5 years for EU localisation (localise fucking what?)
CP has been released in EU for about a month, but it's digital only I'm afraid.

Hmm, any of the many, many antagonists in Neon Genesis Evangelion. This is purely because Shinji is, well, Shinji.
Man, I loved Kaoru Nagisa. That dude wrecks more shit than any of the other 'enemies' in Evangelion and he does it by being nice. The fucking best.

Aside from that, the antagonist from Binary Domain whose name I can't remember. For simple, spoilery reasons:
He is basically AI Jesus and his whole 'sinister' plan is to save the entire human race from genetic defects and disease. Meanwhile, the 'good guys' of the story literally get orders to murder 108 babies (not a joke!) and they're totally cool with that! Seriously, that games morality was all kinds of fucked.

And on topic: Madara Uchiha.

No, I don't think he's a good character, I actually think he's complete shit... but I hate the rest of cast and the series as a whole so much by now that anyone who's trying to kill them automatically becomes my favorite character.
And his English voice is just so...
Naruto in his typical little shit voice: "You tricked Sasuke?!"
Madara: "...maybe."

For my own choice, it has to be the Crawler out of Fable III. Since the protagonist is a non-character, I'll shift the goalposts a little bit to include the entire supporting protagonists. Yeah, they had great voice actors on account of the celebrity cast, but nothing compares to The Crawler.

Walter: "Help me....I can't see...I'm blind.."
Crawler: "HELP ME! I'M BLIND! I CAN'T SEE! Nyahahaha...."

Or the unbeatable "ARE YOU BLIND YET?! ARE YOU BLIND?!" -fade to black-

I'm surprised there hasn't been mention of Spec Ops: The Line yet; you have to have played the game to really understand why, but, without wishing to spoil, in the end, your view on the game and its character is completely shifted.
I was thinking of listing him but I get filled with a lot of self-loathing after the incident in the game. I feel no sympathy for this bastard.
Well...

When you think about it, the Konrad we'd heard over the course of the game could be considered the antagonist, even if it was never the real Konrad, but a product of Walker's burgeoning insanity. This Konrad told Walker that he was doing some very bad things over the course of the game, and ultimately turned out to be the sanest part of him, forcing him to see that everything that had happened in Dubai was completely his fault. "None of this would have happened if you had just stopped."

So, between the war criminal committing atrocities with increasingly weaker justification, and his hallucination that turns out to represent the sole voice of reason in his damaged mind, I found the hallucination to be the more... human.

Ah, just thought of a great example...

Geralt of Rivia is a complete insufferable bore compared to the brilliant Letho the Kingslayer. The Witcher 2's generally full of fascinating characters (many of them complete gits), but the central character is certainly not one of them.

I gotta give it to Ultimecia. Using her magik-mental-psykhik-time-travelling-freak-super-powers, she wanted to make
Final Fantasy 8 to never have happened, and I can sympathize with that.

No but Vaas was pretty great and it's a shame he died so soon. Although maybe that's one of the reasons he really sticks with you.

There are some hero antagonists that I thought were right in wanted to stop a villain protagonist so I wanted them to win. Examples are Hank in Breaking Bad because Walt is a horrible person that does horrible things and L in Death Note because Light is a horrible person who does horrible things. Those antagonists are the heroes.
Hank was an idiot for not calling in for backup and loses any respect I had for him, which was very little because of his arrogance throughout the series. Granted the series would have ended differently had he done so (and sooner) but still it showed his level of arrogance and stupidity that ultimately got him killed.
