Looking at The Fallists. I'm sure they'd happily try that if they thought they stood a chance. So far they just want Science to accept it though lol
What is science?

What does it mean for science to "accept" or "deny" something?

Well in the video I listed established Science academia to teach about it.

Accepting it would mean to teach that the bush magic powers were real and proven somehow.

How many of these "witches" are trying to encode their beliefs into law to force the rest of us to follow them?
Not to mention the NUMBER of "witches", compared to fundamentalist, conservative christians is a ridiculous difference. I don't think any liberal will ever claim we don't have idiots and wack jobs on our side of the fence. But the day when the a vast majority of elected officials are wiccans, who then try and make their wiccan beliefs LAW, then I will be equally against them.

I've used this comparison with some of my religious coworkers, who don't seem to comprehend why I, and other atheists, take issue with someone making this country a theocracy.

So, let's say that 1% of the US population, genuinely, and seriously, become "Toothists". They believe the tooth fairy is real, that she takes the teeth of those who worship her, and provide them with rewards for their offering. Most people would probably just raise their eyebrows, shake their heads and just ignore them.

Then, you hear that the toothist, don't believe in dental care, and so they forgoe all forms of dental hygiene, to facilitate the loss of their teeth faster, to appease the TF. Again, most people would be like 'ok, that's a bit stupid, but hey, it's their beliefs, and who am I to tell them they have to accept medical health/science if they don't want to?" (see the christian scientists for a real example of this)

Then, let's say that the 1%, has now risen to...I dunno, 10% of the population, and they now also force their lack of dental care on their children, not just themselves. Again, maybe an increase in concern, but still, freedom of religion right?

Then, that 10% becomes a 20%, and now, they are holding significant positions of government power, and are lobbying to have toothism recognized for tax breaks. They don't want to pay for dental care for any of their non-toothist employees, because it goes against their beliefs. And they pass it. Now their beliefs are reaching out beyond their own ranks.

And it just gets worse. Their numbers grow, they start to think they've got some divine right to their beliefs, and that anyone who tries to argue "hey so, you know you can't actually fucking PROVE that thing you worship is real right? So, why should we have to live under your guidelines?" is labeled an enemy of the one true faith, further galvanizing them to a state of perscuted fervor. Now they start doing things like refusing to perform their governmental functions, because the person in front of them clearly has perfect teeth, and this is an affront to their beliefs as a toothist, so they won't make your driver's license, or bake you a cake. They start having commonly used phrases like "putting the tooth fairy back in government/schools", implying making their beliefs the law of the land for everyone, not just them. Some of them decide that the people not following the TF are such an affront, that they start attacking them for NOT believing as they do, proactively taking their teeth to give as further offerings to the TF.

Shit like that. And yes, if the wiccans started acting like that, and had the political sway and clout the religious conservatives do, you better believe we'd have as much issue with them.

So what is it? What do they teach?

Accepting it would mean to teach that the bush magic powers were real and proven somehow.
For example, do you think the goal of science education is to teach people what is real?

What does it mean for something to be real?

can it or it's effects be observable.
What is observation? Is an electron telescope “observing” things? And the smaller particles than that, are they truly observed? Given what we know theorize about quantum mechanics and the limits/impacts of observation, is the universe truly knowable under the limitations of pure observation?

Aren't Fallists a South African thing? How does that relate?

Actually, since we are talking about South Africa... Remember when Charles Murray said that blacks were stupider than whites... by only using Apartheid academic results... you know, the time where blacks were deliberately under resourced during school. Because that's science

Then you have Sam Harris and the Wientsiens dredging up his nonsense because Murray got published... And miss the point where heaps of people are critical of his work. Because that science

You know who else speaks like Murray? Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Trump. Even Obama did it, just not as regularly as others. Many policies disadvantage poor and minorities because they're too stupid to waste money on. This an where Rogue Wolf was commented on comes in

So, show us where these witches are forcing their beliefs on us. Because this terrible developed science got in then, so surely the Witches changed laws to force themselves onto us

Magic is just science we don't understand yet.
Or it's B.S.

One or the other.

Fallists are broadly part of the "decolonize!" movement that's been prevalent at least within the last half decade, if not longer. It's hardly a South African thing, it's a US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand thing (at the very least).

So, show us where these witches are forcing their beliefs on us. Because this terrible developed science got in then, so surely the Witches changed laws to force themselves onto us
I'm not worried about withces forcing their practice on us. I'm worried about their plan to turn children into rats.

...what? Didn't you get the memo from Mr. Dahl? 0_0

Lets not get into trying to claim magic powers could exist based on abstract physics and or philosophy or we'll end up in a state where I can argue you don't exist and you have to accept it as potentially true lol

I didn't ask how many would. I asked how many are.
Apparently they have tried to challenge some. Mostly lost because the cases were seen as jokes.

Ok when South African tribes can prove rubbing sticks together or whatever lets them summon lightening to strike their enemy then they can have it recognised as an actual thing.
