Anti virus

I currently use the anti virus, Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It works brilliantly so far.
Another good anti virus is to not look at porn. That one is quite effective as well.
Finally, not downloading illegal things tends to help too.

On a serious note. People say Kaspersky works great. It's got a trial version.
Otherwise, I always used AVG free on windows.

I hope you realize that OS X is just as susceptible to viruses as Windows is. Viruses just don't target it because OS X's market share/penetration is so insignificant, it just isn't worth the time.

I would personally recommend AVG Free. That (coupled with good old fashioned common sense) should keep you safe from just about anything out there. It's always worked for me. Not perfect, no, but it's about as close as you can get for free. Avast is also great.

AVG is decent enough for a freebie but it's still not that great. If you have some money to spare i would recommend Kaspersky. A few days after I got this PC I got a trojan called "GameThief(bunch of random letters and numbers here)" something trying to hack my WoW account i assumed since it was actually WoW that told me about it (oddly, I didn't know WoW did that) but anyway yeah. Nothing I tried got rid of it and at the time I was using AVG free but that couldn't remove it. I installed the Norton, Bullguard and McAfee trial's none of them could get rid of it either, Norton detected it but couldn't delete it.

I went on the wow forums and asked for some help to deal with it. A GM responded recommending the Kaspersky trial so I went an got it. 2 minutes after installing it without me even running a scan Kaspersky detected the Trojan and deleted it without hassle. Ever since then I have used Kaspersky and not had one problem with my PC's security.

Cost me about £50 for Kaspersky PURE (the best version of Kaspersky)

Yes, I did realise that But until it does become more popular and more and more viruses target it, I will rest a bit easier when surfing the web on a mac. When the time comes, I'll move on to another OS at the stage that OS X is at the moment. Thanks for your concern.

That is ironic, however its more like the difference between Mutualism and Parasitism.

Also, I would reccomend Avast. If your running windows XP you can even do boot scans. Doesnt work for Windows 7 though. Not sure about vista.
