Are you looking for something that was designed around it or that merely works well in 2v2?

Because Super Smash Bros works quite well in 2v2. There are some 2v2 minigames in the mario party games I've briefly played. Maybe you can get it to work 2v2. Most RTS games I've seen support 2v2. In age of mythology and supreme commander: forged alliance it works well enough.

Literally every game on the N64 that wasn't strictly single player usually had some kind of 2v2 team set-up.

As far as games being designed centrally with 2v2 in mind... no, can't think of any.

Mario kart double dash works, though personally not my favorite in the series, but I was usually the best driver I played with and found it awkward knowing when to switch seats... then cringe as my team mate either runs into things or can't mini turbo...

I believe the Region Free but the Japan 360 only release of Virtual On Force is 2v2 (got a budget "platinum" rerelease BTW) although I've no idea if it's split screen or not. I have the 1v1 Virtual On XBLA version which is online or system link MP only

Anarchy Reigns PS360 online MP had 2Vs2, plus 4 free for all and a 3 player horde mode (has a brawler football / rocket league like mode which might work with 2v2), dunno if the servers run anymore though.

Usually depending on the game, shooters usually have a 2v2 setup. Maybe not specifically in the game (as you can just set up a four player split between two teams) but games like Halo have a 2v2 matchmaking setup. At least in Halo's case, it's a ranked playlist.

Do you mean specifically designed around 2v2 or just has 2v2 options? Because most multiplayer games can get away with 2v2 to some extent.

And if it's the other, I think Mario Party had a dedicated 2v2 mode.
