First a minor disclaimer: I'm not a professional writer.
I'm probably going against all common sense here, but spend a lot of time per sentence. That means, on average, writing about two sentences every five minutes (possibly even slower).
Whenever I've been writing (that includes all creative tasks that require text, mind you) I've always spent a lot of time thinking about each sentence, because there is an immense amount of things to take care of: Portraying the personalities of characters accurately, the feelings of the characters involved, plot holes, literary flow, portrayal of the scene, the prose, the symbolism/metaphor in the scene (though that is automatic for me, but also not always relevant), and possibly a thousand other factors I'm probably not even aware of. Do the same when you come back to revise it later.
I could go on about a few more things, but most of it has already been said.
