Any fans of the Tales series on this site?

I'm not a huge JRPG fan usually (if JRPG's is not made by Atlus or its name is not Disgaea I generally ignore it), but there is one series of JRPGs that I've felt has always been particularly awesome. The Tales series (Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Vesperia, etc.) has always been my favorite JRPG series, mostly because of the great art style and gameplay.

Anyway, I'm wondering if there are any other people on this site who like them? I know a few people have mentioned the games, but eh.

Also, is it true or just a rumor that they're bringing the PS3 version of Tales of Graces to NA?

Its true, they're bringing Tales of Graces to the US.

OT: I loved Tales of Symphonia, it was such a good game. Love the tales series, but haven't played too many.

I only played Tales of Symphonia, and the story was so shockingly bad that it put me off ever playing another Tales game. Seriously, fuck that game. It's one of my most hated games.

Tales, along with Atlus games, are the only JRPG's I go out of my way to play these days.

It's a great series. Especially Tales of Symphonia.

I only played Tales of Symphonia, and the story was so shockingly bad that it put me off every playing another Tales game. Seriously, fuck that game. It's one of my most hated games.

I've played Phantasia, Destiny, and Innocence. I have Abyss and Symphonia, but haven't taken the time sit down and play through them.

I wish they'd release Innocence and Hearts in the US on the DS, and Graces is released on the Wii in the US.
Though, I'm glad that Abyss is being ported to the 3DS, hopefully that will be released in the US as well,

I've played Symphonia and I own Vesperia and I've really enjoyed both of those. But only having a 360 I'm rather limited in which games I can play.

I've only played Vesperia to the end [I didn't finish Abyss], but it was a fantastic game. It's also apparently the best in the series [though opinion seems split between Symphonia, Vesperia and Abyss from various forums]; and with the constant changes in both console [the next game being a PS3 exclusive, why after you've just built a small fanbase on the 360 through Vesperia you would do that I don't know] and the uncertainty over which games get translated I think I'm going to have to hate the series on merit, not for the games - like I said the only game I've really played was fantastic, but the series suffers badly due to horrible management decisions.

Started the series with Symphonia, which I absolutely love.

Also played Dawn of the New World, which I liked a lot. Currently playing Abyss, which I'm also having a blast with, and I have Phantasia (the good version) on the backburner. I don't know if I'll ever get a 360, so I might be barred from playing Vesperia. On the other hand, I'm waiting impatiently for Graces to come out, and I have a DS now, so my options might be expanded a little...

"Compared to the first" being the operative phrase.

The first was downright incredible, so the sequel was average. I liked it quite a bit.

I'm currently playing it, and honestly, it's pretty fun. If you hold it up to the lofty standards of the LEGENDARY first symphonia (one of my top 2 favourite games EVER), then of course it'll be dissapointing. But I went in instead just expecting a good RPG that showed what became of the world once the first game ended, and that's exactly what I got.

Also, it helps if you've been in/are in a relationship or at least don't mind a game being primarily about them. See, as much as the game takes place in the same world as the first one...the main focus is on the hero's growth as a character, and his budding relationship with the heroine. And honestly, I don't mind one bit.

It really doesn't deserve all the flak it got.

Beaten Symphonia somewhere in the neighborhood of ten times. Easily one of my all time favorite games,along side S3&K and Majora's Mask. If you don't like it, then you deserve to have your arm hairs plucked for not having the patience to weather the initial cliche storm all Tales games have.

Symphonia had my favorite story and characters overall but Vesperia had my favorite combat system.

Vesperia's cast is still very good and maybe I'm letting my nostalgia factor weigh too heavily in my preference for Symphonia but... meh. Sheena is my favorite female character in any game ever.
