Yeah... the one thing I thought I could contibute, and you beat me to it.AWDMANOUT said:You know, Ewan McGregor is the nephew of the guy that played Wedge Antilles. True story.
You do realize that Wedge Antilles ran guns for the rebellion, AND those Wedges in FF were PROBABLY, in all actuality, a reference to Star Wars.AvsJoe said:I'm more a fan of Final Fantasy's Wedge. Wow, just epic...Trilaanus said:As a former Imperial TIE Interceptor pilot I remember the first time I went up against Wedge Antilles. Of course I didn't know it was the legendary Wedge Antilles until after the fact. I was pulling escort duty for a secret ship carrying component parts to the Empire's secret Tarkin superweapon. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a squadron of X-Wings appeared. Now I'm no sarlaac when it comes to maneuvering but this guy was all over me, matching my movements perfectly. Suddenly half of my left wing panel was missing and I started to spin. Ironically, the crippling of my ship saved me because my maneuvers became too unpredictable and, as they had already seized the transport ship by the time he landed the hit, my pursuer broke off. I barely made planetfall on the nearest world with a breathable atmosphere. Once I learned who nearly killed me, well, I freely admit the next opportunity I had to face a rebel flight group commanded by Wedge Antilles...I didn't take it.
Final fantasy's Wedge and Biggs are named as a hommage to their star wars counterpart (biggs is also an xwing pilot, but he dies)AvsJoe said:I'm more a fan of Final Fantasy's Wedge.
