In a little over 2 weeks, Splinter Cell: Conviction is coming out which looks to be the best co-op game ever. Of course it does have shooting in it, but it's more stealth and team work focused.

1. Castle Crashers. This is my favorite Co-op game on XBLA, by far.
2. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Great fun, easy to play, comic book awesomeness
3. Stubbs the Zombie (xbox original). This game is underrated, it's too much fun to zombie it up with a buddy
4. Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy. I still feel this is the best Lego game out there
5. Tales of Vesperia. If you guys are into JRPGs at all this is the best available on the 360 and the battles can be played as Co-op, which is awesome.

My favorite is Castle Crashers, although if you liked that, you would like Alien Hominid too. It has a great co-op mode and is great fun. Also, any Rock Band / Guitar Hero games are fun to co-op.

I came running in here hoping to direct you to Army of Two but alas, no shooters.

Give Marvel Ultimate Alliance a go. It's actually alot of fun.

I'll be coming back if I can think of any others.

Edit: Oh yeah, Fable II is O.K.

Halo Wars (not my cup of tea but maybe yours)also has 2 player Co-op.
Yeah, 'good' is also in the title though.

Haha, my apologies, I played the game with a friend and finished both of them (individually shortly after they came out) within 12 hours of gameplay I think, perhaps longer on the first one, the second one was definitely only 7 hours though and to be frank, I don't think they're good enough to stand out from a crowed.

Are there any games on the 360 or in Live arcade that you guys could recommend for us? It can be any style, as long as it's not a FPS.
I don't know what you're into or if this is on the Xbox (which I assume it is) but there's fairy tale fights out, which to be frank seemed pretty damn nice from the demo. That plus the fact that its co-op and seems to have a very interesting style and humor to it might make it worth the full price of a normal game... Provided its long enough to justify the purchase anyway.

Its not for the 360 but still works on there and isn't a shooter I recommend
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, it is probably not the best choice for you but it is the only Co-Op game I haven't seen listed and not a shooter, it is Stealth-Action, it is a great game.

Castle Crashers rocks co-op socks!
5 types of socks! It has a good amount of replay if you want to unlock all of the characters and level them up. I think there's a free demo? Check it out.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed, the xbl title, not the retail game. BCR is a remake of a classic NES game. It's a 2D platformer/shooter (the graphics are 3D though). It's difficult and has a bit of a learning curve but so you need a some patience. The co-op is great.

Castle Crashers, Eternal Sonata, Soul Calibur 4...

That's all games I can think of right now, and those I've played with uttermost fun.

Ultimate alliance one is good, bbt I don't suggest you buy II. It was pretty awful.
The only other one I can really think of would be Lego Batman.
Not a shooter, really limits it down.
-edit- also, Dynasty warriors 6 and Too Human (not great, but still co-op. That's all there really is...
Yeah I was thinking Lego Batman actually, we had a laugh with the Star Wars one.
-edit- also, Castle Crashers.
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X (which I guess you'd probably class more as a shiiter rather than a fighter jet sim).
Another one would be Bomberman: Act Zero. Gee... I'm really scraping the barrel here.
I hope that helps you, because I've spent the last ten minutes on gamespot out of curiousity and there really just aren't that many.
Thanks man, I'm gonna go download the Castle Crashers demo!

I really enjoy Age of Booty. (XBLA) It's a nice, simple RTS game with pirates. I've played it with my 9yr old nephew. He really likes it too. It's only the 2nd RTS game I've ever liked. You can play split screen co-op or vs., it even has bots with different AI you can put on your team or his, and you can make your own maps.

The Simpson's Game is okay as a co-op. Actually, I would only play it as a co-op. Rent it though, unless it is cheap. If you like the Simpson's it's actually not too bad. Lots of in jokes and all that.

Someone else already said Gauntlet, but it's original Xbox and as far as I know, not backwards compatible. But if they come out with a new one, watch for it. Castle Crashers actually kind of reminds me of Gauntlet, only as a side scroller. And Marvel Ultimate Alliance is Gauntlet with super heroes, so also awesome. But again, people have already mentioned these.

If you do have an original Xbox gathering dust somewhere, I have a bunch more...
