C&C 3 is available on 360.

And yes Tom Clancy's EndWar. Fun game. And actually manageable on console, thought it's because it breaks what traditional C&C type RTS games do. But it works out very well.

Halo Wars is underrated. Sure, on an intrinsic level, it's not on the same tier as great RTS games, but it's better than it's given credit for. First of all, it's the only traditional RTS I've played on a console that you don't have to break your fingers to control, it plays smoothly. The single-player campaign is pretty enjoyable and boasts some insane production values, with more HD cutscenes than I've ever seen in a game. They take an interesting approach to things like hero units, the visuals are nice and detailed, and fighting (particularly in the late-game) is genuinely enjoyable.

Best by far: Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2 on Xbox 360
Before they shut down the servers for multiplayer it was better than Starcraft multi.
Other than that, Halo Wars wasnt THAT bad and C&C is alright.

Seriously though, LOTR:BFME 2 is my favorite RTS on the console.

I personally enjoyed Kingdom Under Fire:Heroes for the Xbox, but I don't have any of the recent gen consoles aside from the Wii, so I can't make any claims about any recent stuff.

Basically you should have stopped there.

No console RTS ever has been much good for a variety of reasons from the controls to the processor limits.

Brutal Legend is the best one by far, considering it's the only one I know of which doesn't try to force a PC-style top down RTS onto a controller, and instead takes the much better approach of putting you and your opponent in the position of fallible army leader rather than omnipotent god in the sky.

And the multiplayer especially is amazingly fun once you get into it. I really recommend giving it a try, as I said it's really the only kind of RTS that works well on a console.

Battalion Wars, and Battalion Wars 2 If you have a Wii.

Both Brilliant games, they play out like a real time Valkyria Chronicles mixed in with the aesthetics of Advance Wars.

I've had a lot of fun with Middle Earth 2 in my time, and the controls aren't TOO bad - certainly manageable.

Halo wars is a pretty well done console RTS, i'd recommend it. It's very simple but works pretty well on console.

Wow, cant anyone ask a simple question without fanboys invading? "Oh...console, blah blah blah."

Well, you have already played the best one IMO (halo wars)

But there are a few more :)

-Command and conquer 3 tiberium wars
-Command and conquer kanes wrath
-Command and conquer red aler 3

And perhaps:
- supreme commander 2

Why not wait for the Wii-U? That touch screen controller looks like it will be great for playing RTS games and will probably spark a renaissance.

In the meantime, just play them on a PC. There are tons of old classics that will run on practically anything. Starcraft, Age of Empires 2, Total Annihilation etc. Crappy graphics are more tolerable than crappy control schemes.

Endwar is fantastic on 360. I played that to death online, voice control means the controller doesnt get in the way. I would kill for a sequel.

My friend swears by RUSE.

Of course i know that. But some games are still optimised to work quite well on console. What i meant was that all these posts that just basically say "Console? Don't bother" are not helpful to the question at hand. The OP also knows this also, and posted an amusing gif to show it. But regardless asked the question anyway.

We good?
