Maybe PS3 and 3DS too, but essentially I'm looking something interesting that I may have missed. Any genre and budget is OK, from action to puzzle to visual novels.

Except for these ones:

- The Last Guardian
- Final Fantasy XV
- Let It Die
- Resident Evil 7
- Dark Souls series
- Bloodborne
- Tales of Symphonia
- Hatoful Boyfriend
- Recettear
- Song of Saya

I have already played those.

Nights of Azure - http://store.steampowered.com/app/527280/
Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book - http://store.steampowered.com/app/527270/?snr=1_5_9__412

Also +1 for the comment below me for Nioh. You played the Souls series, so you would probably get a good kick out of Nioh.

Silhouette Mirage and Virtual-On are two good games that are Japanese PSN-only for the PS3 (yes, they did make it to the US at one point, but not digitally and are long out of print)
Easy to buy and play on US consoles. Just sign up for a Japanese PSN account and get a store credit card, then you can buy them

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, which is a PS4 HD re-release of the PS3 Odin Sphere by Vanillaware Ltd. It's a 2D action RPG. Also Dragon's Crown by Vanillaware (great co-op game), though I think that's just for PS3/Vita. As for tactical RPG you have the Disgaea series. Most games are on the PS3/Vita, the 5th game came out for PS4 in 2015. There's also Ni no Kuni, a more traditional RPG (by Level-5/Studio Ghibli), which came out for the PS3/Vita. A sequel's coming out this year on the PS4.

Puppeteer for PS3 is an excellent platforming/puzzle game. Lots of cool powers and the progression is like you're literally playing through a storybook.

It has has the visual asethic of a puppet show, so when you change areas the backdrop changes like on a stage and the stages move around the main character rather then the main character moving through the stages.

Honestly, the visuals are one of the best selling points, and I mean that in a good way. It's a pretty good platformer as well but the feel of a puppet-show/storybook is what sets it apart.

Nioh and Yakuza 0 on PS4 are really great games. Both even take place in Japan. What more do you want? :p

avoiding ones already mentioned, as something of a fan of strange japanese games, I can offer a few for PS4:

Exist Archive
Grand Kingdom
Omega Quintet
Tales of Berseria/Zestiria
Fate/Extella: the umbral star
Trails of cold steel (one and two are ps3/vita, but the third will be ps4)
Attack on titan
Fairy Fencer F
Disgaea 4

I'll go over my collection later to make sure I got everything. DX

Too many to list lol. If you like VNs I'll go for those, some you may have to get outside of steam since steam tends to censor em, will note.

Steins;Gate, Steins;Gate Zero (steam/vita/ps4)
Littlewitch Romanesque (get from JAST)
Grisaia no Kajutsu (get from denpasoft)
Tokyo Babylon (steam)
Harvest December (digital 3DS game)
Eiyuu Senki (ps3)
Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen (upcoming ps4/vita)
Tears to Tiara 2 (ps3, you don't need to play the first and it is in JP only so no worries, there's an anime based on it to watch if you want though)

Well, Gravity Rush 1&2 are both out now, and they're wonderful.

More broadly speaking you could say absolutely anything by Compile Heart/Idea Factory. They've been pretty prolific in churning out JRPG games for PC and PS4. Though they can be a bit like Marmite...you either love what they do or hate it.

Edit: Also maybe try Danganronpa. Murder mystery thing.
