Don't worry, its confusing as hell to try and explain. Follow the link for a video sample of a fight.mikey7339 said:I just took alook at that and am kind of confused...What is that games primary gameplay? I can't tell if it's a tactical game or a shooter. I was hoping for a turn based JRPG. Man I'm sounding like a picky child now. >.<

The game consists of story "chapters" wherein you get the plot of the game. Then one primary mission where you pick your squad, and then fight as you see in that video. Much of the time you have an overhead map view of the battlefield, but when it is your turn you may use a Command Point (CP) to direct one of your units, at which point you control them from a Third Persion Shooter perspective as they move around the world. Each CP allows for 1 action as well as a limited amount of movement (Scouts can move a helluva lot further than a Lancer, for instance). You can use multiple CP on one unit to have them move/attack more, but each time you use an additional CP in the same turn their ability to move goes down a bit (it recovers fully on the next turn) so you cannot use a single well suited unit to obliterate a while enemy force.
As with most TRPGs facing matters. And there is a unique mechanic in that when you are moving opposing units may take pot shots at you. This works in reverse as well, so if you position your units properly you'll passively take out plenty of them. It really does make you think, and it has a decent story, and unit death can be permanent (if you reach a downed unit within 3 turns then you call a medic who insta-rescues them off the battlefield, but if an enemy unit reaches them or you take too long...). Between unit death and the passive shooting, I like to take my time on missions, but I never feel like they drag on, even if I do spend an hour on a single one.
