Yeah, they have their prog moments(that song being the best example), but I would agree. Still a good band to spread the word about.

Hell yeah it is. And Then There Was Silence is actually one of my favourite Blind Guardian songs, alongside And The Story Ends, Control The Divine and Turn The Page to mention a few.

What about Meshuggah?

If you've heard about this new djent movement, then you may be interested to know that the movement itself is modeled after the style of Progressive Metal played by Meshuggah (though, more specifically, it's an onomatopoeia for the sound the guitars make when they chug a chord).


And the Dillinger Escape Plan... Most of their songs aren't this easy to listen to, but they're always very interesting.

Operation: Mindcrime is one of the greatest progressive metal albums of all time. This album was either very prophetic or a testament to how little things have changed in the past 3 decades. If the hipsters at OWS made this their anthem they would have gotten a lot more done.
