What's wrong with Deviantart?
And what's DE?
The fact that they allow tracing and copying as a 'learning' tool.
Even artists who have had their work traced, have problems getting the mods to actually do something about it.

I doubt much people are willing to look through 1655+ posts of random art.
I dunno about that. Labyrinth has a thread running called the "artist in thee" and while it's any form of art (graphic or otherwise) i'm sure there will be plenty here who would love to view your work.

If you want professional recognition though, I still say conceptart.
That place can be really hit or miss as well, and does suffer the same problem as DA.
Just on a smaller scale.

EDIT: The theft isn't a problem (didn't mean to make it sound like it was, if any got confused), but getting criticism/advice can be just as much of a pain.
The already popular styles get more attention.

Get a blog or something to specifically showcase your work. -shrugs- I use DA to keep up with my friends' art, because I don't really care about anyone else's, save for a few epic pieces I find randomly and, of course, fandom crap. I'm sure you can find a group or community based on DA that's about more serious kind of art, but you'll just have to do a little searching first. I personally don't know any other art sites off the top of my head.

Ok then.
I posted in that thread before, are you willing to look through 48 pages of posts to find it?
Did you mean:

Demented Teddy:
http://liveandreloaded.deviantart.com/art/Tediz-eagle-126900875
The Tediz will destroy the SHC!
It's called using forum search. Add user name, search for thread. This was on the third page.

If you wanted to make a continued line of posts in that thread and not worry about it getting lost in the pages, then might I suggest you put your posts under a common title (like: 'My artwork') so that people who are interested can search for it directly via the forum search by typing in "My artwork").

If not you always have user groups, you can create or join an art based user group and build an art loving community here. Then you can have your own thread or share personal blogs dedicated to art.

It's up to you. These are merely suggestions..

I've found these sites to be rather professional and friendly atmospheres with less emphasis on anime than Deviantart. MorsePacific mentioned ConceptArt.org, and I noted you'd taken a look, these sites are very similar, try not to be discouraged by being 'outclassed', many of the artists are supportive, like Cgsociety's large section of tutorials and links to free educational books. My advice would be to keep your Deviantart gallery as well, maybe try one of these to pick up some tips and critique, and to start your own free blog, generating interest is half skill, half networking. You don't have to decide between sites, sign up for several, you may note familiar artwork as many great artists tend to do just that. Hope this helps, and good luck.

http://shadowness.com A bit like DA, though with endless scrolling and larger thumbnails.
http://www.imaginefx.com A broad skill range here, and downloadable workshop tutorials.
http://cghub.com- If friendly competition motivates you, check out the endless user hosted art jams.
http://www.cgsociety.org- Great place for friendly advice and knowledgeable critique.

Sites that are more like Deviantart, if you care to look:
http://www.elfwood.com
http://www.epilogue.net
http://www.gfxartist.com
edit: fixed links.

.....well....you sure shut me up.
Yeah, I'll probably do the "My artwork" idea, thanks.
It was not meant to. Just saying that if you chose to show your artwork here, it can be done so in an organized manner.

Anyway the user above you has also provided links that might be the sort of thing you were looking for. Either way you're sure to finds someone who will critique your work.

www.yi... Oh, no deviant art!? Well, I suppose you can go on Newgrounds, but that is more of a mixture of tasteless deviant art and just regular art. Try typing in the Google search bar "Art Websites."

Deviant art, abbreviated.
Anyways, I just feel as if there are too many others in there to be recognized.
Shouldn't it be DA instead of DE?
Is your art based on a fandom and are you good at drawing? If yes it will be recognized.
I just caught that...
Anyways, no and yes, respectively.

conceptart.org is a great site. Many professionals hang there. But be warned. If you're going there looking for praise, you are going to the wrong place. Expect criticism. They're not being rude, or mean, or anything like that. They're making you into a better artist.

SheezyArt, Newgrounds, FurAffinity, I don't know. You could just find a smaller, more private art community. If you know the right people you tend to find some, especially off dA.

HMMM maybe http://www.gaiaonline.com if you dont mind hours or reading rules or the long confusing hours of setting up an account. but after that you could post it on their art forums.

Hey everyone, well, you want an alternative to DeviantArt where you will recieve good feedback? Try www.artrift.com, the site was launched a few days ago. I've also got a DeviantArt account. I'd rather be part of a small community of artists and make some good relationships with other artists then get 400 messages saying +fav +watch (half of which are 13 year old emo kids). Its still in its infant stages so its a little buggy here and there.

Take a look at my profile, http://www.artrift.com/mrfenix
