So, I decided to try me hand at writing, but of course, I'm not sure how good I am. So far I've done 2 pages of an idea I had, and I thought you guys might want to read it and give me a hand maybe.
You can find it here. [http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U0F2OBQX] Any help would be appreciated!

No help so far, guys? Hate to bump, but I'd like to get some feedback, and it's not longer on the front page, which is what people only tend to look at.
Lack of help makes me sad.

A lot of people are suspicious of downloads. Either display on a site that you link to, or just post it in here and you'll probably get a lot more replies.

Sorry bro, can't read it since I can't download using a work computer.
That's cool. If you do get the chance I'd appreciate it, but if you can't, it's not like I'll pursue you for it.

Oooph. Ow. My head. That hurts. Ow.
Ugh. Where am I? Wait, is that gunfire? That?s not good. Gunfire?s generally not good. Especially not when I just regain consciousness. Wow, that burst was certainly loud. Is someone next to me shooting?
?Hey... agh. Hey. You there? Oi. You. Tosser.? I moan a bit, trying to get his attention. Luckily, it worked. I?m guessing he?s friendly, because he didn?t shoot me once he turned towards me, and ducked under cover, avoiding quite an unhappy looking hail of gunfire.
?Granat? You?re alive? Jeez, you half-orcs are tough.?
?I... I?m not half-orc. I?m four tenths orc.?
?Oh yeah, right. What was the other stuff, five tenths elf, one tenth gnome??
?Yeah, that?s it.?
?Still confuses me how that gnome blood got in you. That must have been awkward. Or weird. Maybe both. Anyway, you think you?d be able to shoot these guys?? He remarks, as he looks around for something to give me.
?Yeah, yeah, I should be able to. Where are they? Apart from where the bullets are coming from, I mean.?
?Across the courtyard, looks like it?s about... fourteen metres? Maybe fifteen. If you got any magic left that?d be handy.? Oh yeah, that?d be helpful. I check my wristband, press a few buttons, switching the display from fashionable armour to magic gauge. 80%. Not bad for someone who?s been unconscious for... some time.
?I got enough.? I tell the person helping me. ?Pass me a subby, if you could.?
?Sure? he says, tossing me a PSK-2000 submachine gun and some magazines for it. I load it up, cock it back, and grip it hard. Hey, stop laughing.

Where was I? Oh yeah, I hold onto the gun, making sure that the aura of mana surrounds it. Two point teleportation is fairly simple; the main problem is making you come back in one piece. If you run out of mana while not in your original space, the mana stops surrounding part of you, meaning that that part won?t return. It wouldn?t be so bad, but you can?t control what part. Luckily, and wounds that there would be are instantly healed, so there?s no fear of dying. So, making sure me, my gun, and nothing else is surrounded by the aura. Now I just need to scope the area.

?Cover me for a bit... mate. I?m just gonna poke my head out.?
?Roger roger.? He remarks, as he pokes out, unleashing a few bursts of assault rifle ammo, and I poke my head out too, but not to shoot. Me and my accomplice were on the far right of the courtyard, there was a fountain in the middle, with three people around fourteen or fifteen metres ahead of us behind some cover, shooting a lot more bullets than is preferable towards us. Some occasional bits and bobs of cover here and there, and two more people about eleven metres ahead but towards the left of the courtyard. I make a path of where I?ll go in my mind, and cast the spell.

The poor fools back there didn?t really stand a chance. Not much armour can protect you from 60 point blank rounds to any part of your body. Well, two of the poor fools didn?t stand a chance anyway, I had to teleport back before I lost my reserves.
?That was it?? The sarcastic twat remarks as I teleport back to my original spot.
?Hey, two point teleporting takes a hell of a lot of mana. I?d rather not end up losing my legs.?
?Tch. Fine. I guess I?ll have to finish this off.?
?What do you me-? I?m interrupted by a massive heaping ball of fire that spouts from his fingers, curves around the last enemies cover and annihilates him instantly.

?So...? the man says, packing his assault rifle back into its holster on his back and turning to me, ?how?re you feeling??
?Not great, actually.? I reply, getting a sharp sensation of pain around my right temple. ?Ow, jeez this hurts. Gah, what happened here?? I ask, going to rub the pain.
?I wouldn?t do that if I were you.?
?What? Why not? What?s... oh dear.?
?Yeah.?
?This is a lot of blood on my hand here.?
?Yeah.?
?Mind explaining it to me??
?It may have involved a crazed Elf, your face, and a large knife.?
?So you?re saying that an Elf cut down half my face??
?No. Maybe. Kind of. Yeah. Yeah, he did. And by the way, when I say big knife, I mean as in, a very freaking large knife. I was able to keep your stable though, it seems.?
?Uh huh. So, was memory loss supposed to happen? I can hardly remember anything.? I sit back and relax a bit, and then he punches me in the not bleeding part of my face. It still hurt though.
?OW. HALSA. WHAT THE HELL YOU DICK. THAT HURT.?
?Well, that helped somewhat. What else can you remember?? Halsa asks.
?Nothing much. Fill me in??
?It?s a long story.? Oh dear. That?s not a good sign. That?s the sort of thing that someone says when you go home with an effeminate dwarf. You can never tell if those things are male or female if it has no beard.

Here's his story. If people do want to download it, it's safe.

Meh try Jim Butchers Live Journal, it has loads of useful tips on story writing

link- http://jimbutcher.livejournal.com/2004/

And whilst Im not the greatest of judges it reads like a transcript of a film more then anything- you have to describe the surroundings else your readers dont know what to picture, have the POV chracter look around and dscribe the scenery to "get his bearings" or something, and describe this mysterious accomplice, Im getting half formed images and nothing concrete, but as good a try as any I guess

Oooh, thanks. I'll give this a read when I got some spare time. I might update the story after reading this a bit.

EXTREMELY rich source, really helps avoid common writing mistakes/pitfalls/Mary Sues/cliches.

There are quite a few articles, but they are all very relevant:
