Any MMA fans out there?

I was just wondering if there were any fans of MMA on The Escapist as there seems to be no groups for it.

For discussion value (If you ARE a fan,of course), who are your favourite fighters? Any favourite matches/events?

I actually do enjoy watching MMA, and try to watch it when I get a chance. I like Jake Shields, Uriah Faber, and Jason 'Mayhem' Miller. There's a couple of more, I just can't remember their names off the top of my head.

I haven't gotten to see any new matches lately, so I feel a little out of the loop atm.

I strongly recommend watching Jason Miller's show 'Bully Beatdown' on MTV; I've seen every episode several times over.

I wanted to be a fan of Jon Jones, but after what happened in the fight with Shogun, who is one of my favourite fighters by the way, I really want to see him beat. Which probably won't happen, he is an AMAZING fighter.

My favourites fighters are Lyoto Machida, Shogun, Matt Mitrione, Junior Dos Santos, Bj Penn and Clay Guida.

Shogun got utterly dominated, he gassed in the first half of the first round, then tried to throw the slowest punches in the world. He tapped to strikes in the third round and left with an extremely damaged face. At this point, Jones looks pretty unbeatable!

I've only ever watched one event: Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin last year, and I only did that because of Lesnar's WWE background and I was told by some friends that I should see it...

I enjoy watching MMA if I catch it while it's on. I don't really know about that many fighters though. Just the big names like Lesnar, Lidell, Couture, and a couple others. (sp)

I'm a fan of MMA, my brother was on the Okinawan Circuit while he was station over there in Okinawa. Come to think of it, maybe after this disaster thing in Japan blows over, I'll see if I can import a few DVDs of his fights...

Yeah, I loves it. Not seen many fights latley, due to me not having ESPN but I buy the DVDS when I can.

Most of my fav fighters have been beaten round the head too much, I think and just getting bad losses Chuck Liddell, Wandi, Nog etc but I do like GSP, Anderson "the spider" silva, BJ and basically anybody who is willing to for it.

I understand like respecting your opponant skills and you might get counter punched etc but the fights like Thales Leites vs Anderson Silva, it was just pathetic. Every time Anderson went to throw a punch Thales just dropped to the floor.

I get he has double the accuracy than almost every single other fighter and he is a scary stricker but what was Thales's gameplan? Plead with Anderson to go to the ground were he might have an edge? Try and take him down atleast!

I find it funny how people will run at people with knock out power (think of Chuck VS Sobral) but they wont run at Anderson?

I'm a big MMA fan, I dig gsp, akiyama, and lesnar is just fun to watch.

I would like to compete but I can't seem to drop below 215 and I'm just not strong enough to fight at 235.

I'm a gigantic MMA fan, which made me become an amateur fighter and boxer. I'm a blackbelt in 3 martial arts, as well.

My favorite fighter is probably GSP, just because of how similar our fighting styles are.

I'm a huge MMA fan, my favorite fighters are Shogun Rua, Anderson Silva and an outstanding kickboxer in Strikeforce, Gegard Mousasi.
