Any of you own an actual gun?

OT: I own a 20 gauge shotgun and might buy a Glock...39 I think is the model? Or maybe 35...Anyway, maybe a Glock chambered in .45 GAP. I'm not a huge fan of handguns though.

I'd probably buy something like the G3 or FN FAL somewhere along the lines too.

That Thompson, does it have the drum or the standard clip? If it does have the drum, does it jam a lot? I've heard that the original ones did. I suppose if it's a relatively new model though that it wouldn't have the same issues. I'm also assuming it's chambered in .45 ACP like the original?

I also own a gladius, cavalry saber, katan, wakizashi, a jo staff, two daggers, about seven pocket knives, and know Aikido, not to mention the wrestling, Judo, and Tae Kwon Do I've picked up from friends of mine. Oh yeah, and the street fighting stuff I've picked up too. XD

Here in Australia you have to go through so much red tape in order to own a gun that it's almost not worth it (unless you own a farm or have it as part of a sporting league).

I've been to two seperate ranges in my time and I think they're great fun for the sport of it and fantastic for self-defense, so if it were easier then yeah, I'd probably purchase a simple handgun when I turn 18.

I've been debating buying one recently. Not anything crazy, like an AR or shotgun, but a pistol. Probably a .22 or 9 mm.

I owe this interest to my being paranoid, namely about the coming zombie apocalypse and one too many Criminal Minds.

I'm a long gun guy so I always recommend a rifle or shotgun before pistol. If you're thinking about personal protection and if your state allows conceal carry I suggest a compact, subcompact, or pocket handgun instead a full size version.

Glock 19 is the most popular of compact handguns for conceal carry.
I like the Kahr CW9 subcompact pistol.
For pocket handguns the Kel-Tec P3AT is very popular. My cousin carry that on him everyday.

I carry a Glock 19 for conceal but thinking about going for Kahr CW9 in the future.

Just a .22 rifle that I got for Christmas some years back. My parents used to have quite a few, but ended up selling/trading them for various reasons. My brother (USMC) owns an AR-15, AK-47, and a 20 gauge single barrel for actual self-defense purposes. I'm saving up for a shotgun once I turn 18. Not quite sure what kind I want though. For those hating on this topic; have you considered that guns are supremely fun to shoot? And it's not exactly a bad skill to have either.

I have a Colt m1911, and it's pretty old...

It's apparently a relic from the time of the occupation in the Philippines and it was bought out several times. needless to say I had to restore the sucker to working order and now I take it out once in a while to go to range.

good and clean weapon really, and I was lucky to get it for a steal being half the price of newer guns and also being registered already.

but for the guns being silly? Well, you are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to shooting cans from 200-400 yards out and watch them fly every time I get a shot! haha

For me I own six guns currently. Three handguns and and three rifles.
- a 1911 .45 Stainless steel.
- A .357 Magnum revolver with a 6 inch barrel
- A .22 heritage rough rider revolver with a 9 inch barrel

- A vintage 1918 British .303 (from my grandpa)
- A .22 rifle. As normal as they come
- A custom built AR-15. (my baby)

Yes sir. Unfortunately they are rather old and both are passed down from my grandfather. Ill be buying some new ones as soon as I get together the cash. Anyway, one is a Model 11 captured from a dead German in WWII by my grandfather and the other is an old double barrel 20 gauge shotgun he used for hunting. I know someone with an M1A1 Carbine and Im hoping they would be willing to sell it but I guess I will just have to see.

Wait, so your grandfather saved a gun he "found" on a dead German... and a shotgun he used for hunting... but not his service weapon? Why would he keep a weapon he found but not his own? Hmm, methinks there is a lie here... and methinks it was all too easy to uncover.

The obvious answer here, the gun he "found" was actually his service weapon... he was a Nazi. Enjoy that realization. (Thats for attacking Britain in your comments. *MIND EXPLOSION*)

Vintage Colt 1911 worth a lot of money if all the parts are original. Make sure you don't get rip off if you ever decided to sell it.
