I think it will be a big improvement.

The current layout is hamstrung by being designed for use at low resolutions, and really can't display half the amount of items it needs to for the amount of content on the 360 these days.

Similar situation: people have been annoyed at the new look facebook, but they forget that a year or so ago the same thing happened.

Talking about this won't stop it happening, and in a few weeks you're going to love it, so do yourself a favour and turn off that switch for a few weeks, you'll love the changes before you know it. I don't even remember what facebook used to look like

This is pretty much my case when it came to the new facebook. I didn't like it at first, but with time I loved it and preferred it over the old one.

Probably not. The Hendrix estate is notoriously stingy with licensing. They wouldn't even allow Devo to release their music video for Are You Experienced? on Laserdisc after it had already been released on the VHS music video compilation...
