(I'm not hitting the feminist panic alarm - I am a feminist and I detect zero panic - but why is a big, dead, rusty boat a 'her'? Surely it and the Titanic suffice?)
She is definitely the wrong way to go, it was most definitely a male boat.

Seriously though, while I don't particularly care about people wanting to assign gender to inanimate objects, it does seem out of place to when said gender doesn't really match the name. I'm not going to go go around referring to a boat named 'Bob' as a she, for example.

Snip ship ahoy.
For anyone curious, here it is.

I've never heard of someone leaving to get cocoa, that's a dereliction of duty that would have cost them jail time especially in light of what happened. Was it Frederick Fleet or Reginald Lee this was rumoured to have happened to?

I'm not sure how I feel about the theory. I will say that it would have been enough to be a serious problem if the iceberg was blue ice on a calm night with no moon. The actions of Captain Lord have been studied extensively and even a lot of his supporters admit to some degree that he was neglectful. As a good example of this, at no point in the night did they wake up Cyril Evans and have him hail the mystery ship.

The problem with the wireless system was that it had broken earlier. Philips and Bride spent the entire day fixing it and had only gotten it up and running a few hours before she struck.

At least the documentary is of good quality. There have been a few that really aren't burdened with substance. One of my least favourites was the one calling Britannic cursed (viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg0AzXDcFsc) because it had the audacity to sink during WWI. Of course, it made no mention of how it lasted 2 1/2 times longer than Lusitania after it sustained the same damage.
