I think the potato was introduced to both countries around the same time after the americas were discovered. So I suppose the Irish were content with their whiskey.

I love potatoes. My favourite has to be roasted in goose/duck fat with a really crispy outside but a nice fluffy inner. I like chips (fries to you silly Americans) as well and mashed potato with loads of butter and nothing else.

In fact I would say that, in my opinion: Potatoes>Life.

My potatoes proudly claim their side next to my bacon as hash browns! Cooked golden brown in a skillet, lightly seasoned, and artistically placed on my plate so I may cherish the moment and apologize to the God of Breakfast for dislocating such a beautiful arrangement of epicness. If you'll excuse me, I need a napkin to clean the drool I made while typing.
