My little brother brought the plague upon us, and everybody in my house refuses to get ginger-ale, saltines, or gatorade, (sadistic bastards!) so I was wondering if anybody might have some old family remedies or something to help me get through this.

I've been able to eat plain toast and drink juice so far, but nothing seems to be settling my stomach. Not even pepto-bismal. You know you're fucked when pink stuff doesn't fix it.

I think we have some jell-o powder somewhere, should I bother making some?

For a family that gets sick so often we really have shit foods to eat =L
Well there's only one bit advice I can give you if you've got a stomach bug. It's what I call the "sauna method".

Put simply, you need to dress up in as many layers of clothing as you can get your hands on, then get into bed and take a long nap, trying to move as little as possible to let the heat build up (some form of music device would be recommended for this stage).

What you're effectively doing is burning the bug out by increasing your temperature everywhere on your body beyond normal tolerance levels for viruses. It's not the most pleasant form of help (seriously, keep a spare barf bucket and fluids within reach at all times), but fortunately the nap part should keep you out of it for everything except the purging of the stomach and fluid refilling. This should reduce the length of your sickness by a fair measure. In my case it's shortened stomach flues that would have lasted days into a 24 hour period. You'll still want to stay home for a few days to prevent a relapse, but it should make the worst of the ordeal be mercifully short.

Well that's really all I can recommend for you, shy of telling you to call your physician. Hope you and your family get well soon

Rice or bread products always help my stomach bugs.

I find if i eat one or two things that are nothing but sponges for liquids, it helps settle my stomach. I think its because they absorb stomach acids and rouge fluids in there.

Another cheap fix is Skyrim :D Fus Ro Dah your way through each hold and you'll feel better in no time.

I find if you have a sore stomach, putting a hot water bottle against it for a while helps.
It sounds kind of silly but it makes me feel better. It has a lot to do with easing cramps but I assume it'll help for other kinds of stomach discomfort.
Oh yeah, this until you pass out from the lovely feeling.

I don't know why, but that seems legit. Sweat it out or something...

When I read the title the first thing that popped into mind was "Alien"... so I was gonna say booze it up and wait for the bastard to pop through your stomach...

...this sounds slightly less serious then that.

Not much you can do though... Pop some pills for the nausea and pain and wait it out. Keep trying to eat things and drink a lot of fluid.

...as for the jell-o powder. Cook that shit up, there's NEVER a bad time for Jell-O!
