I was, but then i saw a few videos of it.
While i dont think it looks bad or anything, quite the opposite, it looks good, but.... Its not what i was hoping for.

The combat, its a little more.... Dark Souls'ish then Monster Hunter. Dont get me wrong, i liked Dark Souls. But its not really what i was looking for.
The fact that I'm jonesing for anything even similar to Dark Souls is the main reason I'm interested in this. I definitely won't be preordering or anything, but I'll keep an eye out for reviews, and might check it out if it seems good.

"Rough around the edges"? Capcom has proven that outside of its fighters it's only once in a blue moon that their hamfisted programmers can make anything that isn't a poorly controlled, poorly voiced, poorly written pile of horse shit.

Speaking of shitty writing, notice how the writing wasn't mentioned AT ALL. Capcom can't write to begin with, let alone if you introduce western themes.

You're probably thinking "That video made it sound fantastic!". Look at the source of the video. It was fucking "officialxboxmag", you think they're going to dump on Capcom's biggest game of all time, regardless of whether it's any good or not?

To round things off let us end this rant by mentioning how this is Capcom and how in two months we can expect to see the seventh version of the game with a total of 3 new quests to kill rats and 11 funny hats that are for vanity purposes only. Not available for download, physical purchase necessary.
If you're going to paraphrase me at the beginning of a rant but still use quotation marks and then insinuate that I'm too stupid to do my own research and understand the marketing I'm looking at, just quote me properly and get it over with.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is decent, Okami is awesome, Okamiden was ok, I don't really care about the rest of Capcom's games (especially its fighters), and I am indifferent to the company's record of refusing to sell expansions separate from the original game. I'll play the version I buy, and if I miss out on a few sidequests, it won't break my heart. I don't mind a bare-bones story in this case; I'm interested in the gameplay, customization options, and general atmosphere. In addition to all of the various trailers, four hours of streamed gameplay by the developers make me think that the combat will be fun, the environments interesting, the frame narrative adequate, and the game worth my time.

TL;DR?
OXM's promos and other trailers are fine, but Capcom-Unity also did two 2-hour gameplay streams with the devs. If anyone's interested and doesn't want to mess with their blog:

and

and Gamespot did a lengthy "Now Playing" here:

I didn't quote you at all. I quoted the video that was in the Original Post from "officialxboxmag", the previewer says it's "rough around the edges", but overall it's a good game.

Pull the stick out of your ass, I wasn't insulting you, I wasn't even speaking to you.

Never heard of this game before but after watching a few gameplay videos I'm mildly interested now. The art style looks a bit too bland for my liking, though.

I'm not going to be excited about a wRPG just because it's made in Japan.

I'd like to have a good jRPG, thank you very much.

It looks like a weaker version of the Elder Scrolls. And it doesn't even come out for the PC. At least with the Elder Scrolls I get a wealth of mods.

If they put it out on Steam, I'll consider buying it if it goes super cheap. Otherwise I'd rather just get Skyrim and run around as Hatsune Miku all day. I haven't even bought Skyrim yet, and you can be sure as heck I'd not buy this game before that.

It's the exact same genre except probably weaker. With no mods, and no PC support.

It really looks cool. I get a sort of Berserk feeling from it ( hell, there is some DLC that gives you Gutts and Griffith's armour.)

Though my budget for games is fucked until about fall.

It...it looks incredible!

I haven't seen much advertising for Dragon's Dogma (at least not in Australia, or on that Internet for that matter), so I won't be surprised if it doesn't sell fantastically, having said that, it looks like an amalgamation of TES: Skyrim, Dark Souls and...Assassin's Creed, thus it should be worth playing.

In that case, it's my bad and for that, you have my apology. I'm sorry to have misunderstood you and spoken both rashly and harshly. I was wrong on that count.

The "stick" comment, though, is not very classy. Show a little dignity and maturity even when you're offended.

Oh man, i`m not Capcoms biggest fan but the Berserk DLC sure does look nice.
Now i`m waiting for a decent hack and slay with a Slaine model and lot`s of blood and gore. Smon Bisley style FTW.
