I've heard that the game has some issues. Is it as bad as some people say? I'm not worried about it being resource intensive because I have a pretty beastly PC. But does it crash a lot or stutter even on good PCs? Does Windows Live or SecuROM really drag it down?

I would like to get GTA 4, but I don't own a current generation console and I'm not about to buy one just for this.

GTAIV even with a super computer is filled with issues.

FPS drop, crashes, bad performance, bugs you name it.

I finished it without any issues, well exept maybe the main character. He is as likable as a nosebleed.

Yeah but compared to his cousin, he's Mr Universe in the likable department...

Well I bought it and I must say it's average. Yes the graphics are even for supercomputer too much to handle but it's okay. As into characters and story: The story was to linear and best characer was Brucie, the alfa male of liberty city

True but since they are both in the same game it doesn't really make things better. The Xbox version of Saints Row 2 is about 40 times better. Though the PC version runs like a one legged man.

I enjoyed it. I'm running a

AMD Athlon X2 5200+
3G DDR2 generic mem
8800 768MB GTX

On med/high with few problems. Seems hit and miss for most people.

By far the worst thing is the combat system.

1 white pixel = targeting reticle, to gain this, you must zoom in so far that a shotgun or just shooting people at close range becomes extremely difficult.

I bought it, but have only played it for about half an hour, because really 2GB of RAM is nowhere near enough, and I was getting massive amounts of graphical glitches (like everything disappearing) every couple of minutes. That, and I didn't like the idea of having to register and set up TWO online accounts just to save the damn game.

I'm playing right now on my modest computer(AMD X2 6000 @3.1, 2GB RAM, 9800gt) and it runs real nice. Has not crashed once, while the xbox version I have crashes regularly. You will see some slowdown when the rain comes in, but if it's a problem, lower some sliders down to xbox levels. Don't listen to the haters, this game is sublime, and actually I'm finding it much more enjoyable the second time around.

Saint's Row 2 - Would have been a great game if they actually finished it. BUGGY - I've played both the PC and xbox version - the pc version is a travesty - less said the better - and the xbox version at least will run decently when not crashing. And the graphics are actually a step back from the first game. It's still funny as hell but it almost seemed they ran out of money. They didn't even fix the airport crash bug from the FIRST game that made it into the second one. A shame actually.
