Anyone else digusted by the TF2 update?

Currently I am atl-tabbed out of TF2 where my friends are talking about how disgusted they are with Valve. Why? Now to get the new weapons it's a random drop. The Ambassador is complete garbage now. The Sandman they also made practically useless, though that is old news.

The thing that is getting me mad is what is with these damn random drops?? I got 2 Bonks now and this "trade" thing doesn't look like it's going to work. The more I think about it the more they are making TF2 a RPG.

@ OP: What do you mean the Ambassador is useless now it came out on Thursday!? It didn't even exist before!?

The random weapon drops I'd have thought were fairly obvious, they are introducing a trade system where you an swap them for ones you don't have.

I'm not aware of many changes to the Sandman anyway. Even of they did, it's an alternate, free weapon, if you don't like it don't use it.

Personally wasent Attached to the Game, if you have fun with it, thats great, i wasent so i decided moving on was a better idea

Its your own fault for buting it on the console. Console usually get the DC instead of pcs, for once we're the only ones to get the DC

Most people have already heard this argument, but... not all of us have the couple hundred (what $600?) to by a computer that could run it as well as the X-Box...a lot of people already have the X-box, and want to play one of the best games in existence. There are numerous other reasons (community seems nicer on X-box, 70% of people have a mic, etc) that I don't want to delve to far into...

Better than achievements, I mean its alright when the achievements are actually remotely likely to happen in a game like the pyro ones (for which I got all the weapons without farming in about 3 weeks) but when they are just plain retarded like all the medic ones, I mean I've only just got the kritzkrieg after playing as medic as my favourite class since the update came out!

And here I was, planning to buy the game.I was told about the achievement->weapon system, and I loved that, it's just like CoD:MW.Now, after this update, I'm still considering it but having to play and randomly get new weapons doesn't seem so appealing.

The sad thing is there are idle servers now. That is: severs dedicated to people just... standing there... doing nothing.


And the system is currently bugged, they are working on making the unlocks unlock more frequently. (Check the blog if you want proof.)

The old system for items was better. This one is stupid and hardly anybody likes it.

But the items themselves seem fun. I "found" the ambassador and have been having a go with it and I quite like it. One thing that bugs me is that Valve seem to make weapons a little bit too weak with weird extra downsides that don't need to be there. Such as the ambassadors... cooldown period and the force-a-nature's knockback on self (which sends you flying everywhere when you're in midair or underwater).

I've had a go on two new maps so far, the double payload map and hoodoo. My favourite is the double payload map, I think it's quite cool, and the final heat doesn't ever seem to stalemate unlike the normal payload games.

I think it's quite disappointing that random achievements weren't mentioned in the TF2 blog. That's a problem that needs to be fixed, imo.

On the other hand, this is perfect for people new to the game. I only have it on the Xbox, but rather than waiting for Valve to finish squeezing all the extra content onto the Serbian Burgular Alarm, I'll probably get a decent PC over the summer. I need one for college anyway.

Soooo, that means rather than having to farm achievements, I'll get the updates at a nice pace, and Valve will have fixed the problem. Huzzah for me.
