anyone else find portal really creepy??

Yes its kind of a creepy game but that's the point. You aren't supposed to see the sterile white test chambers and think: "Wow, what a clean, welcoming place". GlaDos is funny, but dark, and the ratman just adds to that. Its a creepy game, but its also really hilarious.

Yeah She was creepy. But that was why she was awesome. My favorite line was something along the lines of:

"While the Aperture Science Center does not want to put our subjects in real danger, risk is a good motivator. However in the case of real danger we will be aiding you. For example the floors here are deadly, do not touch them."

Portal is a pretty dark comedic game, and glados really blurs that line between comedic and evil.

EDIT: I went on http://www.aperturelabratories.com/ and if you just keep watching it, without logging in, the video is creepy as hell. Like, a weird Santa pops up and stuff. Urgh. I had to turn it off.

One of the best bits of dialogue is right at the end, just before you destroy that mad *****.
GLaDOS says:
'We had some good times. Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire and we pretended we were going to kill you and you were all like *slo mo* Noooooo Waayyyyyy'.

"haha that was funny wasn't it?"

I found her voice horny towards the end, when she gets angry and does that long sigh saying "uhhhhhh" when destroying the morality core.

" I even invited your best friend the companion cube. Of course he couldn't come because you murdered him."

did anyone else listen to glados's comments and think omg haha that was funny.. aha... hmm.. ok that was actually pretty weird..

cus i got this vibe like everytime she would say something..

for example: "at the aperature science center we believe our test subjects can complete the most complex tasks while under a great amount of stress or pain. So in case you dont survive, goodbye"

Congratulations, you've just figured out one of the main methods of humour, making the reader's/listener's/viewer's mind shift to encompass an unexpectedly radical utterance.

Yah she definitely has some great lines in that game...it's all genius.

"Remember you can donate one or all of your vital organs to the Aperture Science Enrichment center for girls"

I also love when you're picking up the different components that drop out of her at the end. One is vicious and hates you, one is listing off ingredients for cake, and the last one is all like:

"Hey what's that! Where are we going! Hey! You have weird feet! Weeeeeee!"

Probably the most hilarious, twisted game I've ever played.

Place the device on the ground and lie on your stomach with your arms at your sides. A party associate will arrive shortly to collect you for your party. Make no further attempt to leave the testing area. Assume the party escort submission position or you will miss the party." and "The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. *long pause* The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice."

ok... i know it was ment to be like that... i just thought it would be an interesting topic board and so i put on a title that would draw people to give their opinion of the game...

Yeah, it was kinda creepy, but there was so much hilarity in that game. "We have added a consequence for failure. Any contact with the floor in the following test chamber will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your official test record, followed by death."
