Anyone else getting annoyed?

Ok, I don't know about the rest of you but the penality system for Gears of War 2 is starting to piss me off! I know what Epic Games was attemting and I appreciate it but it will penilize you if your connection lags out and lose 1500 XP each time and that's not fair. You can't help it if your connection suddenly drops. It's gotten to the point where it needs to be either fixed or better yet removed completely. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's complaning about this. So, who agrees with me?

I stopped playing Gears 2 online when it took me fifteen minutes to find a match. That and I lost of off-host advantage.

I don't own an Xbox or Gears of War 2, but if I was playing a game and it was penilizing me 1500xp just because my connection lagged out then I would be pretty pissed off. So, yeah I agree with ya

Yeah but it's not suited for Gears, and it takes forever for me to find a match in either... so, yeah.

GoW has a lot of multiplayer issues, but the connection thing is common for most PvP online gaming. Some people will try to cheat by doing various things that basically freeze the game for everyone but themselves. A lot of servers are programmed to watch for this, and will boot you automatically. This was a common call when I worked for tech support, and there's really nothing to do about it except get a better connection, which is all kinds of craptastic.

Personally, I avoid online GoW altogether.

Never played Gears 2 online, because Gears 1 was just filled with complete teamkilling idiots who shouted "fag" every 10 seconds but yeah that does sound like it sucks

That sounds awesome, I am glad there is a penalty for leaving the game. I am getting tired of people leaving with 5 seconds left in a match because they know they can't win. Guess they don't want you to win either...

This is happening on the Resident Evil 5 DLC right now too, for some reason if one person leaves the game the games decides that EVERYONE has to leave the game, and not win, lose, or get any result points err... reward points. It would be nice if there was a way to give people penalties for this. I would like to attempt to leave negative feedback but the "_______ has left the game" message stays up for like 2 seconds I am not even kidding, and you can't go back and look.

Yeah the penalty for quitting the game because you know you can't win I understand but if your connection lags out the game considers you quit too. That's just stupid! You can't help it if your connection suddenly drops off.

Yea they still play it. They fixed the whole "it takes so long to find a match that you could have someone suck you off before the game starts" problem, although it does still pop up 1 out of every 20 times or so but now it's the lag-out costing you a 1500xp penalty.

You know if it didn't penalize you for lagging out then ppl would run up and unhook thier modems everytime they start losing. I applaud Epic for penalizing rage/early quitters for whatever reason. If you got a crap connection then maybe you shouldn't be playing online until you get a better one.

This is the reason why I stopped bothering with games that penalize you for quitting. Do what COD4 did. You still get the points, just not as much.

That is probably one of the worst things I have ever heard. Oh, so because I don't want to pay extra for my internet connection I am now forced to simply throw away an entire part of the game? Is this what your saying?
