I agree completely. And they blame US for every time a thread pops up. I'm sorry, but if the hater bandwagon gets any more biased, they're gonna make Fox News look truthful!

As for the problems themselves, have you tried either not looking for them, or, if you do find them, just block it out of your mind. Seriously, you think this is bad, I have seen worse. I have travelled to the darkest parts of the internet, and what I saw there would you rip out your eyeballs like a creepypasta coming true! What you have witnessed is but what the sane public would call immoral...

But enough creepy rambolic that could possibly get me warned for being mad from me. Long story short: S'phit happens, just dodge that stuff.

So your complaints about MLP are that there is crossover fan-fiction and creepy porn on the Internet. Yes, I hate crossovers. Yes, eye-melting porn melts...my eyes. None of this is unique to MLP. Frankly, a complaint like "why are these guys watching a show for five-year-olds????" makes more sense to me than "why are these show's fans doing something inevitable???"

Also, I dunno about you guys, but MLP memes are hilarious. I mean, look at this:

OT: Yep, there is porn on the internet. Rule Thirty Four isn't just a site, it's an actual rule:

So naturally complaining about that is just silly.

Also the fanfics are also a natural happening, and after reading.... Six of them(?) I've not found one that is less than average in its quality.

I know this thread is probably a shit storm waiting to happen but I need to say it. I'm really getting sick of having MLP shoved in my face.I'm not bothered by the avatars, the fan art, the fan-fictions, or the t-shirts, other fan bases have done that and the only difference is that the object of the fans adoration was meant for little girls. In fact I'm not opposed to the show at all really, I remember enjoying good shows that also tried to teach good morals and behaviours, though I do think the art style is needlessly cutesy. The majority of this rant is directed at the obnoxious fringe groups that inhabit any fan-base, but the ones of MLP seem the most prominent lately.

Well your more tolerant of the show than I am, so I have to give you credit for that.

That said I am bothered by crossover fan-fictions, especially with IP's that have drastic differences in tone. For example I was told by a friend, despite my objections, another thing that annoys me about MLP, about a fan-fiction that involved both Skyrim and Gears of War that only served as a shameless promotion of MLP from what I gathered. I also get rather pissed off when people question my intentions when I tell them I don't like the show, thinking that I'm insecure about my masculinity or maturity, implying that me not liking a show aimed at five to ten year old girls is a problem. My response being that I've seen similar shows in my childhood having grown up with 80's-90's cartoons that MLP borrows heavily from when it comes to characters and have now found myself drawn to shows and hobbies that deal with a darker subjects that a show with a PG rating cannot explore in depth.

That seems kind of stupid to make a MLP Gears of War story, I can only hope that Skyrim ones involve all the ponies being eaten by dragons.

But I can handle the mere annoyance, it is difficult at times but it is manageable. The things that really bother/disturb/disgust me is the erotic fan-fiction and the porn. I don't think I need to explain how disturbing it is to see anthropomorphic versions of the cast with varying degrees of human features being used for pornographic images and all the bizzare fetishes porn has because if someone is going to make porn out of a little girls show they may as well cover all their eccentric/weird bases. Same goes for the erotic fan-fiction. It's rather disgusting considering the inspiration. The main problem is that you don't need to look for it to come across it, and since I doubt 5 year old girls are making this stuff it had to come from the bronies, a minority of them that watches the show for something other than morals they already know and really stretch the boundaries of love and tolerate. I don't mind furries and really weird fetishes as long as it's not shoved in my face but god-damn it what the fuck is wrong with some people? Most of my disgust comes from the fact that it's a children's show.

With that off my chest I would like to admit that the Escapist bronies are easily the most tolerable/respectful of the fans I've encountered, kudos to you guys. Anyone else have anything to say in regards to the topic of an unwilling overdose of MLP? In fact it doesn't even need to be directed at MLP, it can be any IP that obnoxious fans insist on shoving in your face.

The people on here are not as bad as they were a couple of months ago, so I guess they have that working in their favor.

I watch the show, and am somewhat a brony, and while I hear of different fan-fics, which are basically just retelling of stories with ponies as the characters. I'll admit, those are slightly annoying, but I never read them, and just ignore them. I have not seen these erotic arts either, so it really is either the thing that you are looking for it, or subjects close to it, or you just can't stand knowing that it exists. While I find it kind of gross, as long as I don't see it or hear about it, it really doesn't matter to me. They can do whatever they want, as long as it won't hurt anyone else.

Oh the things I could say about this paragraph.

For one. Name ANY children's show. THINK of ANY children's show.

One of the more prime examples would be Pokemon. Do you KNOW just how much rule 34 of Pokemon in general there is?

Thousands upon thousands. I'm not saying MLP doesnt also have that much, but it sure as shit doesnt even BEGIN to rival it.

Hell, rule 34 comes up on the SECOND DAMN PAGE of google images when you look up a main character from the show. (granted with safesearch down)

Kids are going to find that shit so quickly. Much quicker than any other show, especially MLP.

Rule 34 is not really that much of an argument you can use since it applies to EVERY children's show.

No I can't say that I am, but then again I don't hate fanfiction like half of this website seems to, so maybe I'm biased.

One of my general rules of thumb is "don't give fan-fiction the time of day." I make the odd exception here and there, but it's hard to develop an irate hatred for the things with which you have very little familiarity.
Seems to be one of the bigger contributing factors with people and their anti-Brony sentiments, but the things you read are (hopefully) your choice.

Off topic: Speaking of which, I've been meaning to read Cupcakes. I've known about it for quite a while and have seen countless parodies of and allusions to it, but I've never actually sat down and read the blasted thing.

On topic again: The Rule 34 stuff.

Wow, you know when you're in murky waters when you can't tell over-elaborate trolling from bizzare fetishes. But then again, they both are equally pathetic, so it all balances out again.[/footnote][/footnote] as it disturbs you, but you can't change the internet. You can only take steps to avoid it; I make a point not to hang around places where you are liable to find that stuff, getting most of my pony fix from sites that have stringent policies when it comes to pornographic material.

My solution: never touch fan-fics for any show. If it ain't canon, it ain't worth it. Rule 34 is harder to avoid, with image boards being flooded by inconsiderate members, and Google images(which I keep on strict) being flooded with the scum of the internet.

In other words, don't quit watching the show because of some horse wankers being disgusting over the internet. Then you're just punishing the creators of the show, who have done nothing wrong. Simply stay away from areas you know cloppers and other undesirables choose to lurk.

Don't let a few bad apples ruin your bunch, or you'll starve.

Anyway.. on topic now, Honestly OP, you are rewriting the exact same posts that have been written a thousand times, taking the worst parts of the fanbase, those same parts, might I add, that exist for everything, regardless of how obscure or 'kid friendly, and bringing them to light as though they are some rampant disease that you can't even open your browser without tripping over. When in reality, these perversions only exist as a very tiny minority among the vast majority of people who simply enjoy the show.

If you don't like the show, then you are free to express that dislike, but please don't try to call down the fans based on rumour and outright fabrication, because anyone who understands how fandom works on the internet is already well aware that these bizarre fetishes exist, (You don't really think Rule 34 has any exceptions, do you?) but they are also smart enough to understand that, while it's always the extremists who get all the media coverage, the average, everyday fan, the '99%' of the fanbase, merely enjoys the show, and express it politely, either through small forum avatars, which, if those really bug you, you need to get out more. or through fanart, fanfiction, or even videos that are clearly labelled and easily avoided by anyone with even a tiny amount of common sense and internet navigation skill.

Dear Diary, I have finally discovered how to travel back in time. Unfortunately I seem to have landed a couple months back when pony and pony bashing threads where the Escapist's topic of the month. The locals seem not to know that I've infiltrated their society. Everything seems to be normal except the clock on my computing device seems to be set to August 21, 2012. A weird glitch, but I have to face the facts and they suggest I'm in the past.


OP: Ponies are nowhere near as abundant as they used to be. You are of course more than welcome (in fact this would be my suggestion and that of other people in the forum) to avoid MLP threads, but if the odd gif or meme pic annoys you, well I think you might want to re-evaluate your priorities and decide why a dumb picture is getting you so mad.

Also I don't know where you're finding erotic MLP pics and fics without searching for them, but the only place I could think of would be a site dedicated to either these erotic cartoon pics and fics.
