Anyone else miss the old lego games?

I was just thinking the other day about Lego games now and they are all based of movies or other things like Rock Band. Does anyone else remember and miss the old Lego games like Lego Racers and Lego Island?

Oh god yes. Lego racers was amazing, and I had the fantastic GBC version of Lego Island.

Oh and I had this medieval castle creator thing by them, that was genius.

I miss playing with Lego. I also had Lego Alpha Team on the Game Boy

Those were some amazing games. I recall having enjoyed Lego Creator as well.

Lego Island, Lego Creator, Lego Racers, Lego Rock Raiders...

Now I miss them, and it makes me both happy and sad.

I hated Lego Island as a kid. Combining lego and computers seemed like the best thing in the world, until I actually played it. Hated, hated, hated that damn game.

Lego racers was good though.

First thing I did when I got the PS3 set up was check the PsOne store for Lego Racers. Brilliant game.

Such a fun unique game, never played anything like it at the time.

I played the hell off Lego Island 1 and 2, but I think I enjoyed 1 that much more. Nothing really made sense, but you were in a friggin Heli dropping donuts and pizzas to lure the Brickster into captivity!

I mean, yeesh, how awesome is that?

And then the second one came, I loved that one to death as well. Bit more gameplay traded for a bit of style, but fun nonetheless.

Yeah, I'd say I missed the old Lego games.
Lego Creators-Nothing like having 20 naked minifigs crowding around a skyscraper full of dynamite. DIE STREAKERS!!! Knights Kingdom-same thing except skeletons, a castle, and siege weaponry.
Apparently the new(ish) lego Battles for the DS is like the above, except as a RTS on the DS.
Damn it, you made me want to go back and play them again.

Most of us didn't, and that made it all the more fun. As stated above, shooting donuts from a helicopter was awesome.

I remember Lego Island so fondly... It was one of the first PC games i ever played. Thing is, i got stuck on the pizza restaraunt on the moon just before my computer stopped working. i was so upset.
