I don't have much fate that Enslaved will be able to go up against all the major titles due next month at least financially, but since I recently played the demo, I was a bit intrigued by it.

Good art direction, an interesting depiction of a future dystopia, not too shabby gameplay, and most of all from what I played a pretty decent story.

Oh and best facial animations I've seen in a long while.

Just might be a diamond in the rough! What do you guys think?

Loved the demo. I'm not expecting the game to be a huge commercial success, but I'll probably pick it up & enjoy it. The video reel showed plenty of variety in stuff to do, the environments are gorgeous, character animations are great & the voice acting seems pretty solid. My only concerns were that the platforming felt a bit easy & the combat wasn't a whole lot of fun, both could pick up later on though

i like the story and i actually want to know what happens but its one of those games with NO freedom whatsoever you just keep tapping X and when you see a robot just keep tapping square

Well, the combat is supposed to get deeper as the game progresses because you get the ability to buy new moves, and I'm guessing there will be more types of enemies that differ in how you need to approach them.
yeah the combat looks decent later on but i just dont like the movement

Looks great, I guess the gameplay will feel a bit like Uncharted, with all the platforming and taking cover, but with more melee combat.

The bits of dialog I managed to see sounded and looked really great, the dialogs were simple but the acting felt really natural (courtesy of Andy Serkis I presume, seriously, the gaming industry needs more people like him).

Seems like it could turn out alright. I'm not digging Monkey's hair and face makeup though.
I know right?
In the concept sketches he looked really cool. But with HD face on it, it just feels so weird for a man of that age to look like that. xD

I think this is a good example on how things like (for example) anime don't translate too well too real life.

To be honest, I might get this game over Castlevania, and I'm a huge Castlevania fan since the 80s.

Now that's not a decision I'm going to make likely, hell I might just rent both, but the one thing I did get out of this game is credibility in the story. The character's reactions seemed lot more natural and not drowned out in one dimensional archetypes we're all use to, with the new Castlevania I've already rolled my eyes on a couple of occasions just from snippets of dialog I heard in gametrailer.com vids and that whole mask bringing back the dead bit doesn't interest me. Now I just need to see how the Castlevania gameplay will be to thoroughly make up my mind about that game.

So other than Fallout: NV and Vanquish, I just might be picking up Enslaved come next month as well.

I preordered the game from Amazon 'cause Alex Garland and Andy Serkis are involved, after playing the demo I'm not going to cancel my order but my expectations have been lowered somewhat. It looks great and I still have high hopes for the story, but I agree with shootthebandit, there's little skill required for the gameplay element.

Still, I could do with something a little faster paced than Fallout 3, which I'm currently working my way through. At the very least this will be a pleasant way to pass the time before Fable III.

I tried the demo out as soon as I found out it was available and loved it. Not too sure if I will buy it though.

A cool version of journey to the West IMO, I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm getting it over anything that may come out in October.
The Demo is really great, and the backgrounds looks outstanding.

Played the demo, finished it and came out with an overall "meh" feeling. I have no doubt it's going to be a good game, but it's just not my style. I'll probably rent it since it kinda reminds me of Jak and Daxter.

I really liked it, looked great and was fun to play. Story and characters look to work well as well, looking like a good all round game to me.
