Hey, Shamus is pretty good. He has his moments, but so do we all.Multi-Kill said:He'd sure as hell be better then most of the article writing staff here. Darn you Shamus Young!!!! Darn you!!!scotth266 said:Only when I'm linked to them, but they tend to be good stuff. He is the one beacon of sanity left on G4. I really hope that he gets hired out of there, gets recruited by someone better. Maybe the Escapist?
I don't think he did. I bought L4D knowing it was super short with a certain expectation of DLC. I don't mind paying for DLC and would gladly pay for a new campaign map. I think alot of people in the boycott would if asked. And if I thought the only DLC that it would recieve would be the survival mode then I would have passed. Infact my copy sat here for months collecting dust to come out of retirement once when a buddy of mine came over and I wanted him to see it. I want to call out Valve for blatantly lying but I can't. They did say there would be free DLC and they delivered. They never said what the DLC would be and I never asked them. I made an assumption and we all know what happens when you assume. And it was a lesson I will not soon forget. A 60 dollar lesson but a lesson nonetheless. L4D2 will either be a rental or a bargain bin find once I know for sure that it will be supported they way it ought to be. Regardless if the DLC is free or not.Space Spoons said:I don't watch often, but I'll usually tune in to hear his thoughts on stuff like the L4D2 controversy. In the sea of crap that G4 has become, Sessler is the one man who strikes me as actually knowing what he's talking about. The last real gamer in town, if you will.
He's really hit the nail on the head about the L4D2 controversy, incidentally. Dead on.
Ha. accomplishment. That's funny. The group hasn't actually done anything except flame people who have a dissenting opinion. Oh wait that's what every moron with a modem aspires to be these days. My mistake.Zand88 said:He misses the point of the boycott. Valve has the right to publish whatever they want to, and the community has the right to their opinion that it's crap and want a change. There's no reason to go along with their actions blindly.
Even before that, I was annoyed by Sessler's whiney, obnoxious voice, ugly mug, and unfunny humor. He's a big figure in G4 apparently? I'm sick of seeing him.
Why won't this guy die?
And, I have to say; I wasn't going to join the L4D2 Boycott originally, since I was conflicted over it. But, after seeing a link to that video a while ago, and hearing Sessler whine harder than anyone in the group, I realized what an amazing accomplishment it was, and decided to join.
And yet, why do you seem so upset over it, and quick to defend?AceDiamond said:Ha. accomplishment. That's funny. The group hasn't actually done anything except flame people who have a dissenting opinion. Oh wait that's what every moron with a modem aspires to be these days. My mistake.
Since you seem to be confusing misinformed ranting and flaming for actual accomplishments, let me put it in perspective
Number of L4D1 copies sold: 2.5 million
Number of protesters: 32,000
Percentage of L4D1 sales based on number of protesters (and this is assuming that they are all sincerely going to boycott this, which is a massive stretch given what a pack of lies people are when they don't have to make eye contact while talking): 1.2%
Yes. That's right. 1.2%. Not 10%, not 20%, just barely more than 1. Big accomplishment, huh. Just because you make a drop in the profit bucket of a company does not entitle you to act like that company now owes you something. But again, you've already decided to miss the point and throw in with the "what about me!?" crowd.
