Anyone else worried about Iron Man 2?

So I haven't seen anything then what has been shown on commercials but it seems like IM2 could be a huge money grab with an absolutely terrible plot and just a bunch of random action sequences ala Transformers 2. It seems like they are being sponsored by everyone and all the previews just shows constant mayhem and fighting. Im afraid it won't be the same movie as the first and a more of a Michael Bay type movie.

As long as Robert Downey Jr. is in it, even if it sucks, I'll have a great time. Like Pirates. As awful as the third movie was, Depp still displayed his charisma as Cap'n Jack.

Also, I heard that it was really good albeit not as good as the first, but still good.

Indeed. I felt that it was too much of an Avengers tie-in half way through though. But Robert Downey Jr is such a great actor that he makes it worth it. I'm so glad he got clean

Just got back from a midnight premiere. It kicked ass. So no. The fact that it's 2:55 in the morning and I'm still awake should be a good indication of my opinion of the film.


Plus, I could watch the red head kick ass all damn day. And not just because she's smoking hot, which she is. She is a fucking badass.

It's not directed by Michael Bay. So far he hasn't gone to ruin the Iron Man series....

The film is okay... For a marvel film it's surprisingly good.
For a film based on my absolute favourite Marvel comic book superhero... well it lacked alot.
If you can be objective, go see it as it's a decent film in it's own right (far better than that godawful piece of shit The Book of Eli).
If you're a massive Iron Man fanboy and can't switch off the section of your brain that processes that type of thought, then avoid it like the plague!

I was a bit concerned at first, but I actually think it was better than the first one. Maybe because it hasd a much better ending compared to the last one which was pretty brief and boring.

Being an Australian resident, I have already seen Iron Man 2... like... ages ago.

It was a damn fun movie which still retained a lot of charm and charisma from the cast, sure some bits could have been better and all the links to the future Avengers movie kind of overshadow the plot in some places but there's still no denying it is a funny and clever adrenaline paced movie with some genuienly great moments.
