This year i decided, "fuck it, its my last year at this school, might as well do the school show for once". so i auditioned for Les Miserables, and ended up getting the part i wanted, which was Javert.

so i was wondering, any other escapists enjoy the thrill of being on the stage? be this in school, or proffessionally, or just something in your spare time?

Also, if you have been on TV for any reason by all means share that with us too

so how about it? any other dramatists in our community?

it doesnt matter if you did the show years ago, days ago... or in my case... the opening night is next week.... lol i wanna hear about it.
God, I'm extremely jealous. I really want to see Les Miserables but I can't afford West End tickets, or train fare to London. Plus, if you're in that then you obviously have some singing talent. I wish I could sing well...

Anyway, I digress. I first acted in a school production of Treasure Island when I was 12, we did it like a panto version (and it was an all boys school), so I ended up playing Mrs Hawkins. It was a pretty big role though, and I enjoyed it, even if I did have to dress up in drag (to quote Al Murray, "I was never confused..."). I then had several bit parts in various plays, including a gipsy who dies almost instantly in a Dracula segment, and one of several Oliver Twists in an original play written by one of my teachers. None of these were speaking or major roles. Two years ago I got the part of Francis Nurse in The Crucible, and this was a pretty big speaking part, so I was happy for that. Last year, at university, I was a non-speaking extra who was on stage for almost the whole production in an original play called 'The Ferryman'. Since then I've auditioned for loads and not got any other parts.

However, tomorrow I'll be auditioning for A Midsummer Night's Dream at university. I was an extra in a winter-set, 70's disco version (called A Midwinter Night's Dream) at school though, so hopefully my prior knowledge of the play will help :D.

I haven't but an old friend of mine was on tv, it was some weird show where teenagers tried to run a business I think.

Nothing like that but I saw Stephen K. Amos's Warm Up Gig for his tour.

I heckled and got a laugh.

I've never actually acted in a show, but I've done the technical stuff back stage, such as lighting and I've filmed as well.

I was on the news a lot of times, mostly for things I wish I could forget(not murder or any other crime)

I did every show in school and did drama for my G.C.S.E's (got an A). The final (and best) show was bugsy malone.

I was one of the main roles in the play Alibis. It was at my high school a number of years ago.

I'm Hulk Hogan.

Nah, had a few small parts in school plays, but didn't really care for them.

I took a class in high school in speech and theater. Our final project was a production consisting of skits the class cooked up. It was a trainwreck. I was part of a song about school stereotypes and forgot all the lyrics, so I winged it and passed the microphone on. Yeah, kind of embarrassing.

I also read poetry on cable access TV.

Hell yeah, I loved acting and whatnot. Now I'm going to college for media and we do radio/tv shows every day. Search Westman Newsline on youtube to watch.

I used to play trumpet in a band and perform all the time. My favorite song we did was the Star Wars theme. We sounded horrible but it was fun to play, lol.

Ha! Haha. Hahahaha. Haha. Ha.

I was quoted in a newspaper when I was around 7-8, however.

I'm on RetroTV Network once a week, Channel 13 in my area once a week and do some cameos for a show on Channel 3 every once in a while. As far as plays go, however? Never got a part, but never auditioned for one either.
