So my boyfriend and I were sitting down today watching Iron Man 2 and we were talking about the upcoming Cap and Thor movies.

I took to the internet to see what I could find. I knew Chris Evans was going to be Steve Rogers and that did worry me. I thought that he looked nothing like Cap until I saw this picture of him taken on set.

Holy crap! It's Steve Rogers in the flesh! I for one was HIGHLY surprised he looked so much like the Cap. As you can see, Evans has buffed up quite a bit for the role.

And, of course we have the Thor movie. I wasn't familiar with Chris Hemsworth. I saw pics of him on the internet and wasn't impressed. However, I saw an interview with him recently and he too bulked up quite a bit and definately looked the part of Thor.

The hammer looks really cool I might add. Of course there are pictures of him in his costume, but I really liked this one because he's grabbing the hammer.

This pictures really got me jazzed for the movies, so I ask you my fellow escapists:

Are you excited for these movies?

Thor might be awesome, but Captain America does nothing for me, besides wonder of the necessity of having a hero whose name is CAPTAIN AMERICA. I mean, heroes are silly and all, but he is epic silly.

YES, YES I am massively excited to see them, and then the eventual Avenges movie.

I'm actually kinda worried chris evans is goings to make cap into a smart aleck
Yeah I am also concerned about that. I think he could pull off a serious role without smart assery, but we won't know for sure until the movie's released.

I think Cap is a prick, and I can't say I'm looking forward to that movie. For that matter, an Avengers movie doesn't hold much appeal for me, either, seeing how their adevntures are usually the blandest of the bland.

Thor has me a bit intrigued, though, mainly because I don't know much about the character's background to begin with (who knows, maybe there's more to it than "He's a viking god who breaks stuff with his hammer") and they're apparently going for a partial representation of the rugged Ultimate Thor in terms of visualization, which simply looks better to me than the clean-shaven classic look.

I never knew soo many people disliked the Cap. He is full of badassery. But then again, I'm a fan of the Cap. In Civil War, he and Tony Stark had some words (and more).

Thor: Looking good so far. A few minor concerns, but nothing damning. Curious to see how he'll be recruited to the Avengers. Most anticipated movie of 2011 for me.

Cap: I'm REALLY looking forward to this. Cap has regained my interest rthese past few years. Not enough revealed for concerns yet.

Yes, I'm looking forward to both.

I, too, have never been a fan of Cap.
He was that annoyingly perfect all-American douche to me.

Thor I like better, though I'm not excited about the movie. I'm nervous about it.

No, nobody on the face of the planet or anybody at the Escapist is excited for these movies.

Your thread question is asinine. You know that when dealing with the multitude of people on the internet, the answer to an "anyone" question is "yes". Perhaps a "why" or "why not" question would be more suitable.

I am pretty excited for Thor, though.
