I have the censored version for my xbox 360 so that pretty much rules out the possibilty of downloading anything which could ovverride the censorship. But frankly I don't care, my computers fairly old and it struggled through the games demo. But really I don't mind the censorship, really the only changes are that the riot gear uncommon common in the Parish don't have the word SECURITY emblazoned on their armour, and their gear is green and black for some odd reason. There's less decapitation and the bodies dissapear after a second or two, but there's still plenty of blood and without all the corpses the frame rate holds up well. Plus in the Australian version of the game I've stumbled acroos something rather funny.

This is the cricket bat for the standard release:

At about 1:22

And this is the cricket bat for the Australian release:

Get to know someone in New Zealand and have them send you a copy in the mail. Or if you're in Queensland, hop a boat to New Guinea. You could make a weekend out of it.

I'd send you one from here, but America is NTSC and Australia is PAL (minus the whole blind faith thing).

For fun, you could email Michael Atkinson and give him a piece of your mind. I even found his email address for you. attorney-general@agd.sa.gov.au

If you have an xbox buy it from the UK not only will you get the uncensored version, it will be $30 cheaper than if you buy it at the full retail price here in OZ.

On a side note in a time when our dollar is damn near 1/1 to the U.S. dollar why do we still get charged anywhere upto $120 for a game that costs $50 in another country with a shittier economy? srsly?

You have bought the game, you have the right to download the full version of it, just don't tell the cops.

I know of this gaming cafe in Adelaide that has the uncensored full game except the game crashes on some of the computers every now and then. I'm not sure how they got it uncensored though.
In Chinatown?

Leave Australia. Easy solution.
I worked there for a couple years before leaving and didn't regret it - elsewhere there's no outragous censorship, you can own firearms without the government owning your dick, and I also had my first ever stolen car while I was there (so I may be a liiiiiittle bit biased).

Low Key: My new hero :) Anyone else sent him an angry letter yet?

Yeah worst thing about Australia is the stupid retarded Policital "Leaders". My dad had a good idea. We should stick them all in Tasmania and let them get on with arguing what shades of red should be banned because they resemble brain too much, and let the rest of us get on with out lives.
(That means non-political tassies can come onto the main land too)

Not the one in Chinatown, the one right next to it.

Haha, this topic got 1,000 views. I never expected that. Really!
However I have settled down with a 510 version now, just uncensored it like many did with the demo.
Although there is not many servers.
[HEADING=2]At all...[/HEADING]
So I'd like everyone out there on PC to join in with the 510 version! Join our Steam groups! HELP US GET MORE SERVERS!!!

If you're on the xbox, buy it from www.play-asia.com, it's cheaper then most local stores and uncensored I can't remember why but only the asian version is uncensored and works in Australia.

I know how you feel, when Canada's dollar was par with the U.S. dollar, I still had to pay more for books than the U.S. did, felt like I was getting ripped off.

*Ugghh* I have the Australian version of the game, I got it for 360 because my old pc probably wouldn't have handled it very well. Through this I basically can't download a patch or a mod that would reverse this but I really don't give a shit. Gore or no gore left 4 dead 2 is still a clever, tense, awesome multiplayer experience that'll take you from a burning hotel to a bombed bridge, and some stupendous places in-between.

I was so excited because a friend was able to get the uncensored version from NZ for me.
Is it actually uncensored? And if so, can I play it on an Aussie 360?

I don't know I'm sorry. I have it on PC. For PC it is possible to un-censor the Australian version. However you can't uncensor the 360 version.
But if you imported a full-gore version. Then it should be perfectly un-censored and the full game in all its violence as Valve intended [HEADING=2]:D :D :D[/HEADING]

Oh don't get me wrong! Even without gore Left 4 Dead 2 is still a work of brilliance! Plus an extreme challenge sometimes.
(4 human players + Realism + Hard Rain + Expert = NEAR IMPOSSIBLE)
Although when a body magically fades away into nothingness it's just not as enjoyable in my opinion. Then again, I'm twisted AS!

(sorry for double post D:)

There are some tweaks that require you to mod your game (easily googlable), however the players you're playing with will also have to mod their games to play on the same server.

Other options include, making friends with someone in New Zedland (the horror!), flying to the US and having someone in another country gift it to you.
