Anyone here miss the days of when you were young and gaming?

When you didn't know what a genre was, or what game was more popular then the other? When you played the game to have fun, and only to have fun, and you didn't care if you sucked or lost? I certainly do, and I wish I could go back in time, somehow, and relive the days when my enthusiasm for gaming was at it's height.

Yeah, I guess. Everything were better in the elder days (or not).

I do wish, however, that I could play Morrowind with fresh eyes again. The fact that I know Vvardenfell in and out diminshes my fascination of the game quite substantially.

I certainly do, especially cos my parents still bought all my video games.

I've been playing my first sonic game since the mega drive this month, and I'm still getting over the fact they changed the name of Doctor Robotnik to "Eggman". Lame!

Kind of, I remember playing some Starfox game like 200 times, now I can't play something for more than a week before I get bored.

Nowadays there is too much critical opinion. I used to go in to a store and blindly pick a game...

Yeah, I miss the days when Melee was popular or back in the time of SNES and the huge selection of great games. Since the beginning of 3D games with amazing graphics I find it hard to enjoy the old games again. However, recently I bought Link to the Past on the virtual console and that alot of fun.

Anyone want to recommend a good old game?

I still do this. Stay young at heart Saberfox and don't let them bring you down. Try playing more old games as you will find yourself sucking and losing more as they were harder. I can't make you have fun but bury me alive if it isn't worth an attempt.

I miss spending every weekend and the entire summer playing Goldeneye with my brothers... I sucked at it, but good God it was fun.

I still do that. I play lots of games people hate, and shun many they love. I am really into Indie games as they tend to be aimed more at fun, and not all flash and glitter.

I miss that a lot...We used to play all types of games back then,especially the ol' mario,prince and the street fighter...
and better we had a whole lot more time to play when we were kids

Yes, I miss them terribly. More time to play, things were simpler... good times. But we must press on! For the sake of old school gaming's memory...
