For some reason I've taken an interest to the PC indie survival game 'Don't Starve'.

Anyone else played it? I know it's still technically an open alpha at the moment, and I hear it's a bit ropey, but I've also heard nonspecific good things.

Watched a few videos of it.
Seems alright, but not quite finished enough for me. It'll be interesting to see how it comes along when it's closer to being finished.

I've got my eye on it.

I'll probably pick it up at some point but I haven't played it yet.

I've seen gameplay videos and I like what I see. In fact, I like it so much that I'm going to wait for the final version (or release version). I don't always want to experience games in Alpha/Beta stages, especially if I'm already sold on them.

Plus, it's Klei. They made my Game of the Year (Mark of the Ninja).

It's intriguing to say the least, I've posted a 1st impressions vid on youtube but not had chance to get my teeth into it properly.

The perma-death is a nice touch, (makes you very careful!) but any research you unlock carries over to the next character so death doesn't hurt you too badly. (Unless you've stock piled tons of resources.) You can also unlock new characters to play as the more nights you survive so there may be some replayability if the characters are different enough.

The art style is quite nice, but Klei have the hand drawn look as their "thing" so quirky and stylish are a bit of a given when it comes to that particular developer.

Should be interesting to see what three months of polish do to it when it gets released in March.

Anybody had a good stint playing it? I've got the feeling I've only really scratched the surface.

Well I did play a mini game on a Warioware server on Team Fortress 2 in which the description for the mini game was "don't starve"

Basically, all the players have to play jump rope and grab the food floating above them to keep themselves from starving to death. The jump rope obviously is an instant kill. The way the area is designed though, players can stay away from the jumprope, but their health slowly goes down from not eating. Whoever is the last person standing wins.

As for the indie game. Never heard of it.

Looks interesting but I've got enough to playroght now.
I'll be picking it up when it's done most likely but untill then I want to try and keep it out of mind, dont want to spoil it.
So I'm jumping off the hype train at the first stop.

I have been playing it sporadically over the past two weeks (approximately 8-9 hours so far). I had more fun than I expected, despite its simple premise and gameplay. I look forward to future content and changes.

If you purchase it through the chrome store, you actually receive 4 keys (2 steam, 2 chrome). Split the keys between friends and it ends up being quite cheap.

I bought it around about 2 days ago and I simply love it, to be honest when I watch lets plays of it even I think it doesn't look terribly exciting. Its still going through multiple builds and there's still much more late game content to be added but at the very least its definitely having a go at the free 15 minute trial on the Google chrome at store and see if its your slice of cake.
