I got a flare up of Psriosis about 4 years ago, but it wasn't really too bad, was just on my ankles. I actually thought it was just eczema then, but turns out I was wrong, it's now on my hand and arm, so I have to wear long sleves all the time so I don't look like a smackhead, that still doesn't stop people asking 'Dude, what's wrong with your hand?'.

I got the double whammy aswel, about a year ago I got some random bumps on my fingers, went for an X-ray and nothing came up, that's because psoriatic arthritis doesn't show up on an x-ray for atleast 10 years from the onset, and at the time neither me 'nor my docotor realised I had psriosis, so he just wrote it off as nothing.

Anyway, recently found out I do infact have arthritis, this is worrying because the usual onset is between ages 30-50, and for me the initial symptoms started a year ago when I was 16, I turned 17 a few weeks ago. As it started so early it could turn out to be the type that makes my hands look like they've been ran over my a combine harvester, which is a real kick in the teeth as I go to music college and play guitar, so without my hands I'm pretty ballsed.

I thought about making this thread because my knee is in real pain tonight, it has been hurting and feeling odd for the last few months, I hope I haven't also got arthiritis there, but I'm 99% sure that's why it's hurting. But hey, maybe I can get a cane and loads of vicodin and turn in Hugh Laurie.

Anyway, just felt like posting about this to enquire whether or not anyone else here has Psirosis or Psoriatic Arthiritis. It's a real bastard of a disease, and in some way, as harsh as it might sound, may make it a little better if I feel I ain't the only one suffering.

I have eczema. I have no fingerprints on my right hand because of it. It's really frustrating because it's pretty much eliminated my precision grip with that hand (and I'm right-handed). Using chopsticks or even a non-grippy writing utensil is quite irritating. Mine's pretty well-controlled right now but when I go off my medication it can get pretty bad.

That sucks, and is very odd. You lose your finger prints? How does that even work? o_O

I had arthritis in my right hand for like a week but I then switched *erm* the business hand and now everything is fine.

(By business I mean of course writing hand, Ambdidextrous FTW =] )

I have psiriosis (or however it's spelled) on my scalp. Nothing so far fixes it.

I can't wear black anymore...

I have a lot of joint pain problems in general, but I'm not sure if it's arthritis or what. Mainly it's in my wrists, ankles and neck.

I have mild eczema on my right hand and on my legs (makes shaving a *****). Just small patches, but since I'm looking into/working in the food industry, it's going to be interesting, considering how many chemicals I'll be dealing with when washing my hands, cleaning, etc.
At the moment, just using the medicated ointment (I hate that word), as well as sorbelene soap at home and moisturising plenty, seems to keep it under control.
But it is definitely something I'm self-conscious about, especially when it flares up. It looks pretty ugly.

But arthiritis is nasty, especially at such a young age. >.< Are there any treatments available?

And it doesn't sound bad to ask if anyone has got it, or something similar. Even though logically you might know already, it is nice to really know that you're not alone in your situation.

Basically, the skin on my right fingertips is in a constant state of very chapped or very think and flat, so the fingerprints don't have a chance to show up in a recognizable form. I HAVE fingerprints, but they just aren't able to form on the surface of the skin because it's replaced so frequently. Also that skin is really dry, so there's no oil to leave a print. I could take a photo comparing my right hand to my left hand, if that would help.

I know it's a long way and expensive, but Psoriasis can be cured by time spent in the Dead Sea. There is treatment center there. I believe the length of stay is about a week or so. I've had a couple of friends who've had the problem and gone there. It can be a bit painful at first because of the salt on the open wounds, but it does take care of the problem.

A few years ago, I got a severe bout of psoriasis (I think it was called inverse or something), anyway, rather than getting dry skin, places on my body that were warm (for example, between my legs) flared up in a rash which looked like I rolled around in stinging nettles. This then spread to the rest of my body and itched like crazy, I had to bathe in this brown tar mixture every day for during the summer. Hopefully it will only happen the once ¬.¬
