Anyone noticed Youtube has changed yet?

Yeah I notice the black colour today and I'm not really bother about it since after all it's just a colour change.

This is probably part of a transition to the testing layout that's in testing right now "Cosmic Panda" I've been using the Cosmic Panda layout for a bit now and it overall makes the player darker, there's a more customizable video size option thingy, now the player has an area of its own and all the suggestions show up in a sidebar underneath the video, and you can see people's channel avatar next to their name in the comments. Those are all the most important changes there are a couple of minor things not worth mentioning. Overall its a very nice layout and I'd be perfectly fine if it became the default layout.

It must of happened some time early today or in the afternoon, because of was watching Penn and Teller last night at around 2 to 3 in the morning and it wasn't like that.

It's been that way for well over a month for me...

That is odd, I've never seen selective updates on the net that only happen to certain people and then other people get it over time.

This happened to my brother when the new layout was implemented into Youtube, so this has happened before.

I just wish Youtube would make that Lights-Out feature they added for, what was it, Earth Day or some such guff, permanently. Having that obnoxious white webpage go black when watching a more-often-than-not shitty-contrast video would be luvverly.

i'm hoping for that it makes the videos look less bright and easier on the eyes

There's a site called stagevu that has a similar premise -- it's a tube site which exclusively uses divx videos. I'd give a link, but it allows you to download the videos without an external program/firefox plugin, and I don't want to fall afoul of the anti-piracy rule.

OT: It really does look like youtube: divx edition. Matter of fact, I initially thought they had brought back that watch in divx option that youtube was trying out a few months back. I have to say, I was disappointed that it was just a redesign; the divx version was almost always less blocky than the flash version.

Also, I'm kind of disappointed that the bar is now a "scroll over-pop up" kind, instead of the omnipresent one it was before. I know the actual video isn't impacted or anything, but I just really liked being able to see what time i was at before.

And thus I sigh the sigh of an upper-middle-class white kid being forced to deal with a minor inconvenience.
