I tried the Demo, liked it.

Did I bother looking for review scores?

No, I didn't my own personal interest and enjoyment are the only factors that come into play here when it comes to finding games I'll play. Which is exactly how it should be for everyone.

Scores on review sites nowadays more often mean squat regarding the actual quality of the game itself unless, lord forbid they actually give a good game a good score.

But yeah, reviews and numerical scores ultimately mean diddly-squat in the grand scheme of things. Because they only represent the opinions of one person or a small collective of people who isn't me (Or respectfully, you/us).

Yeah, that's basically the entire damn game. Even outside of the fights like that one, there are a lot of little things like one of Bayonetta's moves involve her humping the air for no real reason when you charge it.
I dunno, isn't that supposed to be the stupid fun of it? Like "Haha, check this out boys" kinda fun? I guess there will be some guys that get turned on by it, but there are guys that get turned on by the Easter Bunny. Bayonetta will be the game that was made because we can and there was nothing like it before that received this level of hype and was so ridiculous. Not that any of this makes it a good game or one I want to play particularly, just saying that it's something you can play with your friends and be like "OOOOOH!" like the guy in the video someone posted above.

I got a good headline for you;
REVIEWERS ENTICED BY BIG BREASTS
Let me know what the female reviewers thought of the game.
Oh please, by that same logic all male gamers should hate on DMC/God of War for having overly manly/witty male characters instead of average joe. And every other minorities should be pissed that they are cannon fodder in video games.

I played the demo, thought "Devil May Cry with a woman" and stopped thinking about it. When they make guns actually worth having in those kinds of games then the combat might actually be fun.

Well, I just tried the demo.

I might buy it if I see it in a bargain bin for $20.

My main fear is that it seems like it's far more focused on presentation than it is content. The demo is two "stages", but each stage is just a couple of fights. It might wind up being enjoyable, but it doesn't look like a $60 purchase.

The game is actually quite polarizing to me...
First, it looks and people are saying that it's a very good game gameplay wise.
And I do enjoy the genre.

Thing is, I sucked at the demo (as I do most games of the genre), and because I still live at home, I wouldn't feel quite comfortable knowing that at anytime my mom could walk in and see something like...Joy.

I just played the demo and was completely taken aback by the awesomeness that it vomited onto my screen.

^ That's a lie, felt far too much like DMC, wouldn't pay more than £10 for it.

People...don't like the game?

Well they suck. The demo is better than DMC 3 or 4.

I'll have to play the actual game to see if its better than DMC 1.

from what i've heard from IGN the PS3 version should have more than 1-2 points off.
for those who haven't seen the reviews the 360 version got 9.5, PS3 got 8.7.
I'm guessing you got that from IGN.

IGN are a bunch of biased cunts who give praise to every 360 version over the PS3 version.

Don't trust the critics. Especially major critics.

ummm I'm not too into that genre (except when I'm a fan of the main character/background like with Force Unleashed or Wolverine Uncaged), and I'm not really a big fan of Bayonetta herself haha
but reviews have been glowing, so I'd give it a chance if the game ever showed up around here (I'm also cutting back on spending when it comes to games gahh)

Ign hates the ps3 version of all multiplatform games. Notice how they're always reviewed by IGN xbox team? On exclusives they seem fair-ish

From IGN 360 review:

Closing Comments

"Although Bayonetta has more than a few similarities to Devil May Cry, I wholeheartedly believe that this game is a must-play. Buyers beware, however: the 360 version is vastly superior to the PS3 version on a technical level, so PS3 owners fortunate enough to own a 360 should absolutely avoid the PS3 copy. For more info on the discrepancy between the versions, feel free to read my full review of the disappointing PS3 port. [http://ps3.ign.com/articles/105/1057012p1.html]"

The review seems to keep pointing out your typical loading and framerate isssues that may occur on PS3 versions, even if it's true, it does sound kinda biased to me because pointing out the PS3 issues kinda steals attention from the actual review.

Playing the demo I found it very hard to see what's going on at first, but then you eventually have to zone out half of what's going on around you as it's just debris in the background or something. The actual combat is fun as hell once you're into it, but the character and all the over sexing of everything is UNBELIEVABLY IRRITATING. You have a vagina...I get it... Feminism is a great thing, and Exploitation makes for very entertaining movies, but Christ on a bicycle is the sex overplayed in this. The one thing stopping me buying Bayonetta is Bayonetta herself!

So will anyone finally bother to try it out?
I've actually almost finished it.

Great game.

If you can swallow the rather thick (I swear, there was absolutely no pun intended) sex appeal, and surreal setting, you will absolutely love Bayonetta.

Don't listen to the dipshit at IGN, either. The game is just fine on the PS3.

He never mentions that the load times are, at max, 2-3 seconds long.(Obviously not refering to the in-between level loadtimes, as they're obviously much longer, regardless of system.)

Why is it hard to accept that ports to the PS3 have glaring technical issues?
