I was really young when it came out but I kind of remember it fondly. I'm guessing it aired on Fox, but I can't be sure. For all I know it was only ever one episode.
It was a really well animated cartoon. It was science fiction and it started out with the large fur-covered jellyfish. He had like four or so yellow eyes and he was talking to this little human girl about what I imagine to be her older brother.
He talks about how they met and he was some kind of soldier (because he had a rifle) and he found this alien when it was young so it looked like a little furry jellyfish.
I don't remember much beyond that. Sorry. I was like five or four at the time I guess.
