I do, and I really miss this series of games unfortunately I will always harbour an biased grudge towards WOW for effectively changing the direction of the entire franchise, in my opinion Warcraft III is the best RTS ever made. Sure the total war series has been good to me but if Blizzard ever announce another RTS game, then they already have my money.

Then again I've waited this long for Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3... In any case I'm just wondering if anyone here ever played one of these games.

When I got to uni I noticed people had a hate for all things warcraft, just because of WoW. A lot of people hate WoW and have only heard of it, too. My mate who plays only RTSs said he doesn't want to try warcraft because it's lame (having only heard of WoW).

Meh I liked WoW, and Warcraft 3. If WoW didn't exist, would Warcraft 6 still be selling lots?

I liked the tower defence stuff on warcraft 3, spent a fair bit on it when I didn't have an internet connection.

Yes, yes I do. I still have all of the Warcraft RTS kicking around somewhere in my house.
And I have no strong feelings on WOW one way or the other

Quite often I crack open my Warcraft III Battle Chest to play some vampirism, or a good MAUL.

You can't be sure that they'd have made a Warcraft 4 if they hadn't made World of Warcraft. And frankly, considering a franchise ruined because there's something in it you don't like is extremely ridiculous. Like people saying Indiana Jones is ruined after Indiana Jones four, or that the new Super Mutant Ninja Turtles film will ruin that franchise. If people think that something new coming out in a series will render the previous movies or games un-enjoyable... I don't even know... there's something seriously wrong with them.

I liked Warcraft II quite a bit. Played the hell out of it. Somewhere between II and III I apparently started hating RTS games, however. Not sure when or why that happened.

I played the hell out of Warcraft 3 ladder when I was younger. Right now I just play dota online on The Frozen Throne.

I believe I remember a british man talking about this not long ago and he had this to say:

It still is.

It also has an MMO now, which is pretty decent too.
His wisdom is paramount.

Just to clarify, is this just a thread about complaining that things have changed?

I played Warcraft 3 for custom games.

Meh, I'd like a Warcraft 4 if only for more convenient gameplay elements.

I remember when WC2 was a really good RTS. The original game wasn't really all that great, but the second was tons of fun for a while. That is, until StarCraft came out and made us all realize how horribly, horribly unbalanced WC2 was and how much better a game like that could be put together. I never particularly liked WC3. I have a hard time putting my finger on just what it is about it, but something about it feels different in a bad way to me, and I couldn't really get into it.
