I hate all the hate halo gets. Just accept lots of people like it and move on.

Fanboys of ANYTHING are annoying, even if it's of a good game like Half-Life. After all, fanboys by definition are blind to anything else (especially 'rivals') having anything good about them.05rutterb said:

People are intiled to thier opinions though some human birth right thing, but said peoples constant brodcasting of "this games sucks assssss, why you like it?" is a little ear hemorrhaging annoying.

Well ive never had an issue with hate threads on 2 conditions - 1: You back up what you're saying with actual evidence that people can find on their own, and 2: The people contributing the thread just dont lash out at people.
Same thing with versus threads, they're only made out of curiosity to see which of the options to escapist community prefers, but people contributing take it too seriously and normally the feedback or initial "briefing" i suppose isn't supported with any viable information.

I find the PC elitist threads more irratating than the "why does this game suck thread", but both are mind numbing. We need a thread about a terrible game called why does this game suck , then we could examine the lameness and ascertain what exactly went wrong.
In short, yes. Once in a while you get a thread starter with valid curiosity about why a title is innovative; someone who wants to like a game, but has missed the factors most others have presumably discovered. The rest of the time you just get some moron that wants to rant.
Yes. Lately it's MW2 and Avatar that seem to be getting stick. They irritate me because they encourage wannabe elitists to state that they're so much better than the great unwashed who actually dare to like something thats popular, without giving reasons why. At least in vs. threads, people tend to justify their opinions, and don't feel the need to act like twats.
I think we should start praising the "Anyone sick of" threads, and then, like the thread that swallows its own tail, we can ask why it is praised and who's sick of it.

Gaming, like all other forms of entertaining media, are entirely based on subjectivity. If Dude A hates Modern Warfare 2 (for example), but Dude B thinks it's akin to god's golden phallus then that's the point. Most of the time it's just people wanting to be different, which is fair enough, but they could at least find a less annoying way of doing it.
