Yeah. The common answer to most of these threads is "Because it's a pretty good game."

I dunno, they give me something to read and sometimes a good laugh. Although the funny thing about it is that i have almost never thought that a game was over-rated.

Let me tell you something. If someone asks you "explain to me the big deal about (insert game here)" it's a trap. Odds are you won't change their minds, and if you get out of hand, they could label you a blubbering fanboy. Just ignore that question.

I hate all the hate halo gets. Just accept lots of people like it and move on.
Fanboys of halo are annoying though.

Hmm couldn't agree more. The Halo ones seems to get shut down by mods instantly lately though. Seems the latest targets are Bioshock and Half-Life 2.

I make one Bioshock thread and suddenly it's the new thing to hate?
I made the thread because I seriously wondered why it was so praised.
I'm sick of any thread about MW2, because it instantly turns into a flamewar.

You're not the only one. There's been loads of "It's a dumbed down System Shock 2" threads and comments.
