It's just you. Did you even see their game addiction episodes? It ended with james pouring his soul out on camera. Lost their heart my ass. What show have you been watching?F4LL3N said:Every now and than I'll go a watch the new episodes. It's not something I particularly wait for. Even though I did enjoy them, I have been losing interest. I feel they have lost their spark and they don't offer me as much anymore.
I think that money business killed them a little bit. I don't feel they put as much "heart" into it anymore. Maybe it's just me though.
That's another reason for me. While it seems like the majority jumped on their side, I feel it was 50/50, if not tiny bit more Jame's fault for making things unclear in the first place. Not only that, but how he took care of the situation also bothered me. I don't blame Allison or Daniel as much as they seemed to be mostly on the side-lines while James took control. But since James is the one writing the episodes, that did effect my desire to actively seek them out again.Caramel Frappe said:I used to watch them here. I really admired everything they said, word from word. However, they broke their morals when it came down to the issue with The Escapist. I thought they'd handle it much better, resolve the conflict and get back running episodes on here.
Nope.
They left... just like that. Sure, it was both parties fault.. yet I can't get over James getting lawyers first thing before even talking this out. Along those lines, I even gave them a shot on Youtube. It's not the same, so I stopped watching them. Yea, you can quote me and defend Extra Credits if you'd like but just know I felt betrayed personally. Just me though, and I know they needed money but just the way they handled that situation... it sort of reflects on how they preach in their videos. Bad impression overall.
Yeah I agree with you, I can't really look at them the same after all of that business. I still watch the show occasionally because I go to PA all the time but it's just not the same. It's kind of like I've seen the man behind the curtain and I just can't enjoy it.Caramel Frappe said:I used to watch them here. I really admired everything they said, word from word. Yeah, same here. I fundamentally disagree with them on where the medium is supposed to be going, so I found it unwatchable after a few weeks.Rednog said:No, I generally watched them just because it was on the front page of the escapist and when I had nothing else to watch. I usually disagree with their opinions and fell that they are rather preachy at some points. Because of this I'm not really going to go out of my way to look up their stuff.
It was a generally interesting show when they are informative of how certain jobs work in the game industry, but when they get up on their soap box I just groan and close my browser.
