Last year a close friend of mine joined the army and had to move out-of-state for training. Keeping in touch with him was hard, as he has little free time outside of the military and raising a family. We tend to use different forms of internet communication as well: I prefer emails while he uses Facebook almost exclusively.
In a strange coincidence, both of us decided to get Xbox Live a few months ago. Ever since then we've been using it to stay in touch. We tend to gravitate towards co-op games like Borderlands, since he often has to stop playing to attend to family matters, like putting the baby to bed.
Anyone else use games as a way to keep in touch with others?
