Minimal spoilers possible.

So season 2 is off to an excellent start. I didn't quite like Episode 1, but I have to admit it was good. Just wasn't to my liking.

Episode 2.

Holy crap Episode 2 proved that they upped the budget by a massive amount, and I really really REALLY can not get enough of the animation, and the fight scene could have matched Season 1's Episode 17, except it was a very short battle.

Also, plot development as of Ep 2 was totally unexpected, which is typical of Ankama and their stories. -_-

Anyone else watch this show? What are your thoughts? Watched Season 2 yet?

What. No one?

Right, so anyway here's a bit of a Trailer/AMV for season 1.

And a few for season 2:

Brief synopsis:

This is Yugo. As an infant, a mysterious man named Grougal (Grougaloragran) entrusted him to Alibert, a simple follower of the god of fortune Enutrof, looking to find a treasure that would change his life. Alibert found Yugo, and also Grougal's message and was thrilled to have at last found meaning in his life.

Fast forward a bit over a dozen years later, Yugo has grown to become a responsible child, helping his stepfather (who is now Mayor) around their inn.

Meet Ruel Stroud. Ruel is a follower of Enutrof, and an old friend of alibert. While cooking for Ruel one day, something strange happens and Yugo somehow magically vanishes and resummons a bunch of cooking ingredients along with a few dishes/bowls/etc.

Meet Tristepin, a follower of the warrior god Iop. Followers of Iop are not known for their intelligence, but more for their sense of honor and their strength/prowess in combat. Tristepin also happens to be a Shushu guardian, someone entrusted with a Shushu (demon) sealed into a weapon. While this makes them powerful combatants, Shushus are actually able to posses their guardians if they lack the strength to repel them.

And so, mere moments after Yugo discovers his powers, a Shushu possessed Tristepin wrecks havoc in the village and winds up in Alibert's Inn.

A brief scuffle insues, with Yugo making use of his new powers (thinking with portals), and Tristepin is restored back to normal, though he falls unconscious moments after.

This is the part where Grougal's message to Alibert is revealed. "When Yugo's powers awaken, he must leave on a journey to find his real family, the fate of the world depends on it."

There isn't much of a time for celebration however, as the village falls under attack from parasitic creatures. Alibert falls, but in his last moments before being petrified he tells Yugo that he must await a message telling him to go on a journey.

Meet Princess Amalia.

..and royal companion Evangelyne.

Princess Amalia of the Sadida (druid/voodoo folk) is escaping home under the guise of a pilgrimage. She is accompanied by her companion and bodyguard Evangelyne, follower of Cra (archers/hunters).

Both come under attack by the same parasitic creatures that petrified Alibert, and are rescued by the trio of Yugo, Ruel and Tristepin (at this stage Tristepin wants to repay Yugo for saving him, but does not seem like he will do a good job at it).

This is the story up to episode 2.

PS - you guys had BETTER appreciate me typing out all of that.

It's a light hearted story at first, but the plot does mature, and it does get darker towards the end.

I highly recommend watching it.

What a coincident I was going to post ?who watch Wakfu? thread and you did it first.

Anyway I didn't heard about it until a few weeks ago when someone mention it in one of the post. My curiosity got the better of me and I was lucky enough to find a place that upload season 1 with English subtitle.
It pretty much the best French animation I have ever seen (it used to be Oban Star racer but that half French and half Japanese). I used to think that French cartoon were average (Funky Cops, Code Lyoko, Lucky Luke, Martin Mystery and Totally Spies! etc) well much better compare to British cartoon but Wakfu is outstanding. I still find it hard to believe that it's all done in Flash animations. I consider it to be one of my favourite animated shows although I have seen a lot of animes but it in there somewhere in my top list.

While I am aware that season 2 is currently air but unless someone had upload English subtitle I won't be watching it anytime soon.
