Apocalypse Lane: Episode 30: Obama Drama

That was the first time I've seen Apocalypse Lane.
The only joke I found funny was the one you stole from Dumb & Dumber.

Well at least you gave it a shot by watching one episode that's in the complete middle of the story line. That's kinda like watching one scene from the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy and then saying the movies suck.

Didn't realise they had continuity.
Should I start from the very first or just the start of this particular storyline?
Or is it like one big movie you're slowly writing?

Give it a shot. Start from the very beginning and work your way up to this episode. If you still hate it after 10 or 12 episodes, fine. The show isn't meant for everyone but as you can see from the other comments it has a very good fan base and people really dig the story line.

We are only doing 48 episodes so yes, in a way this is one big movie I guess since we know where we're going with it.

In all honesty I do like the real life Obama, he seems to be at least trying to get something done.

I never got the impression of an Obama hater from the use of him in the series, in fact, quiet the opposite. The whole Obama thing came off to me as meaning to be funny in an ironic way, not a mean way.

Was that the impression you where going for?

Also, it's good to hear not everyone takes politics so seriously, I think we need more people who can say "Fuck Politics" It gets so monotonis and it's not like anyone ever really 'wins'

On that note, I would agree, at least Obama seems to be trying to get something done, which is more then we can say for the last presidency. (Like I'm being so controversial for saying that)

Funny episode. But I have some questions for you...

Are you anti-Obama or is it just because he's the president now, and anyone would have been treated the same? Or is it because he's the only president you guys can do an impression of?

I don't think they are anti-Obama. In fact, I didn't even see this episode as being insulting to Obama at all. They made him just as crazy as any other character in the series, and they didn't really make fun of him. He's just kind of a jerk to that talking cockroach, but, hell, it's a cockroach.

We're not anti Obama. Had McCain been elected he would be the President in Apocalypse Lane.

Which would make more sense considering some scary stuff he and Palin said...

maybe the cul-de-sac is far away enough that all of those events could have occured during the journey there? The cul-de-sac could be all the way on the west cost, if its even in america, for all we know

I have noticed Obama doing few things compared to what Bush has done. Even if he's my Commander in Chief, he still has to earn my respect. All I see him doing is getting peace prizes for nothing.

At least Bush tried even though America gave up on him because they were dumb enough to re-elect him twice hoping for him to suddenly change. God I hate it when people bring up politics in everything. Can't we just enjoy the series?

More towards the video, well done. Isn't that Rubber Ducky from one of the very first episodes with in it Obama where he was in a tub? Gotta love that ducky.

I was just referring to the character of Obama in the series and was replying to Jon Etheridge's comments, mostly encouraging his "Fuck Politics" attitude, I hate politics.
