Well, that was ... horrible. Actually twitching a bit from anger after watching that. Makes me appreciate how safe my puppy is though.

This occurred in Rahat, a Bedouin village in Israel.

For those of you that don't know, that's the equivalent of an American Ghetto: Poor education, loads of crime, and limited resources. In the case of a Bedouin village, it's out the middle of the desert as well

And THAT is why this shit happens.

It happens on a daily basis, worldwide, in poorer communities like this one. It just happens that this incident was recorded.


Also, Irony Time: "Rahat" in Hebrew means "Peaceful" or "Quiet."

In Arabic, "rahat" means "relief" or "groups" (it is a also a Muslim name used mostly for males). In Hebrew, "rahat" means fountain.

Islam considers dogs (along with pigs) to be "unclean" due to their scavenging nature. Probably not the reason, but burning an "unclean" animal is probably not as bad (in a Muslim's mind) as harming some other creature of God.


But yea, that doesnt condone this kind of behavior, and its seriously worrying since most every single serial killer began torturing animals before they moved on to human targets.

Yes that is what I have read as well, dogs are considered unclean, but Islam also rejects the killing of animals except for human consumption. probably as you said that it is the fault of the kids deranged minds along with their probable lack of education and tutoring, but then again who knows.
