Really, why do people critisize a genre so much that they will refuse to listen to it at all? Eminem and Jay-Z have done some amazing songs, such as "Stan", "Empire state of mind" and "'Till I collapse"

And let's not forget the classics. Who can't remember Run-DMC, MC hammer and sir mix-a-lot?

The point of this post is; not ALL rap music is bad. RnB, however, is the real scum of society

I don't think that all people who listen to rap are degenerates, but I do hate rap. The last time I ever took an interest in rap, was the early 00's then it all basically turned to shit. I can listen to some, it just depends on the song the artist means shit to me for the most part.

I just don't like the sound. Also I find that allot of rappers seem to be far too full of themselves (look at kanye west). They all seem to have imbecilic names like 31 Pence and Jay-Zed. I don't have a problem with other people listening to it, I just do not like it.

That being said, I do like some stuff by Will Smith, and also some stuff by Lil Jon. I like Will Smith because he is quite good and Lil Jon because he is waaaaay over the top in a funny way.

Secondly, stans an awful song imho.

But i do agree not all rap music is the scum of society, and RnB and Rap can be hard for the average person to differenciate.
People will generalise, it happens. Just don't take it personally and move on.

On the whole I don't like rap music, but there are certain songs I don't mind.
But I think you're right, people do over-generalise it. A degenerate of society though? That's going a bit far...
Its just one of those things, get used to it and ignore them. If you like it, it shouldn't matter what others think...

Another theory is that with the internet controlling our lives, it has been a never ending quest to makes ourselves look smarter than everyone else. So they diss rap music to make themselves seem cultured and intelligent.
