I can ony listen to old rap songs, and the rest make me want to shove their golden teeth up their nose
I must admit I never understood that particular genre.Zeithri said:* Metal (Primarily Power Metal).
you're right, rap is great, Eminem is truly a genius, I listened to a freestyle session he did and it was AWESOME. and Relapse was one of, if not, his best album.AdambotLive said:Because i listen to rap music.
Really, why do people critisize a genre so much that they will refuse to listen to it at all? Eminem and Jay-Z have done some amazing songs, such as "Stan", "Empire state of mind" and "'Till I collapse"
And let's not forget the classics. Who can't remember Run-DMC, MC hammer and sir mix-a-lot?
The point of this post is; not ALL rap music is bad. RnB, however, is the real scum of society![]()
fucking LOVE that song, but mostly in this context...Douk said:These are the same people who tell you to stop stereotyping and generalizing. The hypocrisy could be cut with my bare karate choppin' hand.
Another theory is that with the internet controlling our lives, it has been a never ending quest to makes ourselves look smarter than everyone else. So they diss rap music to make themselves seem cultured and intelligent.
No it is not.But all Gangsta rap is bad.All Hip-Hop is bad.And all brokNCYE is bad.AdambotLive said:The point of this post is; not ALL rap music is bad.
and we all know that to generalise is to be an idiot =Prabidmidget said:People generalise, get used to it.
This ^RubyT said:I don't like Rap, because a lot of it is just playing with Cubasic to create a nice loop and than speak some bullsh*t over it. Or, if you're really lazy, just "sample" somebody else's loops. Sure, there are a couple of Rap tracks (I won't call something a song that didn't bother to include a melody) that are fun, but in the grand scheme of things, it's rubbish.
How many Rap tracks from 2002 are still played on the radio today? Or from 1996? Rap is not music like that of The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley or Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner. Contemporary Rap music will not be listened to in 40 years, because it's disposable. You listen to it for a couple of days, weeks, maybe months and then throw it out. As such, it's much closer to Twitter than Art.
The Roots would have something to say to you.RubyT said:I don't like Rap, because a lot of it is just playing with Cubasic to create a nice loop and than speak some bullsh*t over it.
