All things in moderation. My last binge lasted over one hour and under two about a year ago. Now I usually only use it in half-to-full-hour bites.

If I need to pull an all-nighter for whatever reason, I visit TVTropes.

I once spent hours there reading about Pokemon. I don't even like Pokemon.

OK, that's a lie. I fucking love Pokemon.

And the real life Tear Jerker page. Sad, but long.

I've never been to this site...
I'm kind of scared to now. I've spent so many hours on the Encyclopedia of Life and Wikipedia just looking at aquatic lifeforms. Grr...why am I not studying to be a marine biologist.

I don't mean to offend anyone or anything, but how does it suck y'all in so well? Every time I go there I get bored. Like really bored, really fast.

But ah well. To each his own, I suppose...
It's because we love to learn useless shit about the things we dearly love, like our favorite cartoons, anime, manga, comic books, and films.

I think it's a personal thing. I'm a desperate knowledge seeker, so whenever I watch TV, I watch documentaries, I read about natural history and other stuff. Literature analysis. I guess that's why TVTropes appeals to me. It's super informative and there's a lot of analysis and whatnot there.

That's why I get trapped; I can't vouch for anyone else.

I got turned off by this site when a bunch of people I knew turned into complete assholes with their incessant quoting of the site. It's still pretty interesting but I just can't get into it.

I could sit on TV Tropes all day (around 10-12 hours, i suppose), but now that i know the main stuff, i can just spend an hour or so looking for the thing i need (that wiki is rather helpful in writing), then jump out.

It all started when I was linked to StopHavingFunGuys. And now, they have a trope for my condition. ArchiveBinge.

If that is not the most addictive site I have ever been on.

The longest I've been.... what, around 6 hours? This is including toilet breaks, but still...

Yeah, TVTropes can actually ruin your life. Instead of studying for my 4unit maths exam (which is on tomorrow) I spent the majority of last night going through nightmare fuel. And thus slept badly. >.<

My friend showed me that site the other day, I didn't care to learn what it was about. A few days later I see it everywhere. I'm afraid to even view a whole article for fear of the Wikipedia effect.

I'd like to dispute that on the grounds of being a false-positive. Wikipedia is for the users and by the users, so it is not a haven for completely-factual data. Some things will corrolate and some things will be wonky dubious horseshit.

TvTropes, however, seems to be rather ironic and funny.

I manage to bail after 9 hours. The secret is to only read the top section, or if you absolutely must look at examples, pick a favorite medium and stick to it, only reading that one. God help you if you like anime. The Dr. McNinja page is good for four hours alone.

I love TV tropes, it's a good place to find the next movie or series to watch, just as long as you can pry yourself away from it long enough to actually watch what you found. Longest I've been on there? probably 4-5 hours, I dont time myself but I have wasted the better portion of a day there once.

Answer: About half an hour.

Its too much like Wikipedia so I must limit myself before ultimate loss of time

Eh, once you read most of the artices, most of your time is spent on the Troper Tales.

I actually can't get into TVTropes. I have done what you did on Wikipedia mind you, but I just don't see what all the TVTropes fuss is about. Never spent more than a few minutes on the site.

I've missed doing so much homework because of that site. 9 thimes out of 10 if I need to be studying I'll be on TvTropes. It's all very sad really... I bet that site has taken at least one of courses down a full letter grade.
